We have been searching for decent “Chinese” food since moving to mchenry 8 months ago and NOTHING in the area was even close to being good. This was the first time I’ve had it since moving and I can FINALLY say we found the place. The egg rolls were so good, which is usually my biggest test on a place! The beef egg food young was also great, no big chunks of onions either. It was a good portion of ingredients, and the flavor was spot on. My husband had the chicken fried rice and orange chicken and he said it was really good - he usually says “it was fine” whenever we get Chinese, so this is a big compliment coming from him. The service getting the food was quick and still warm when we got it. I do remember coming here years ago, and remember it being really a great atmosphere and really good. So luckily with Uber Eats, we were able to have it delivered. I am thrilled to say I FINALLY found my go to spot!!!!

Service great! Food really good but little bit too oily. We had kung pao tofu, Hunan beef, spring rolls and Cantonese vegetable soup. Everything tasted great and we will definitely come back!

What a GEM! Once in a while I happen upon a time capsule, one that holds all dreams and memories of the best real authentic old school Cantonese restaurant. You know the place (still drooling)...the one with the huge domed platters of gastronomic delight...the barbecued sliced pork so good it makes you crave it...the soups and noodles and dumplings spot on no half plate small portions.I am eating as I write...it is SO good I can barely stop. I ordered pork ramen soup at the suggestion of the waiter. Oh my GOD this bears no resemblance to grocery store ramen with half a pound of sliced pork dumplings fresh vegetables superior stock and a fresh angel hair pasta...wowNow for the entree...I am brought back to the 1970s with art deco decor and the finest rendition of shrimp with black bean garlic sauce (they call it shrimp with lobster sauce but that is usually a white egg sauce with peas and carrots). Is it good? If I were at San Quentin this would be chosen for my last meal. Unbelievable highest recommendation without hesitation bring the family...it is really reasonably priced with huge old style portions

We wanted date night to be out to eat instead of carry out this evening. I may have been here years ago and passed by a million times but we went in tonight. The server was very nice and everything we ordered was good. We enjoyed the egg rolls with delicious sweet and sour and I have to comment on a comment here. My husband usually has the hot mustard when we get it. Another review (after we ate there I read some) said the flavor of the hot mustard was good. I coincidentally tried it out of curiosity tonight. It does have a good flavor with the heat and I found I liked mixing a touch of it into my sweet and sour. Try it! I had the Beef, Onion, and Pepper Chow Fun. It is served with wide rice noodles. Loved the samples of noodles display on entering. ? Dan had Kung Pow Beef. Great with heat. We want to go back to try the Egg Foo Young and ?? next! As we were leaving we met the owners. They were very gracious and I don't usually write reviews but want to highly recommend stopping in. Our night out was comfortable and filling with a great lunch to look forward to tomorrow. Gave up on finding good Cantonese until my sister told me about this place. So glad I listened to her raves rather than the person who ordered ummm chicken nuggets!?!? The egg rolls are the best I’ve ever had & they are huge! Delish (& generous portion) of egg foo young with combo chicken, beef, shrimp. Their hot & sour soup is to die for (& is included in all entrees - nice touch). Will definitely be back.

Ma Pa Tofu with pork was the best we’ve tasted. Our host mentioned that it was made with traditional bean sauce. It was indeed, and fantastic. The Emerald Shrimp was a splurge! Lightly buttered/fried with fresh braised broccoli and a rich white sauce (mayo and tasty flavorings!!) As others mentioned the egg rolls are a meal in themselves. BBQ meat, shrimp and a blend of amazing veggies and seasonings. A fun new place to visit and patronize. Off the beaten path so we need to keep promoting it!
