It's a shame to leave a harsh review to such a unique place with good food. I've visited multiple times and each time had the same problem: the kitchen is very slow and you should be prepared to wait 40-60 minutes for your food. The servers are often kind but inattentive and openly admit the kitchen is poorly managed. Our server today was too scared of the kitchen to ask about our food after we had waited 40 minutes. The food arrived with a few mistakes, and the manager came over very apologetic about the whole thing and offered us dessert as an apology. It was a singular piece of pie for a table of 7.I enjoy the food a lot. But I can't feel comfortable recommending this place without a huge asterisk until the kitchen gets sorted out.A tip: it seems like the kitchen gets burgers out pretty quickly. If your plate has more than one cooked item, it seems that's too complex for them to manage effectively. So maybe just stick to burgers and sandwiches if you go.

We chose St. Nick for an Easter Brunch. It was great, from biscuits and gravy to steak and eggs a delicious, well made and presented meal. Service was spot on and seamless. We also enjoyed interesting decor as well as a view of an active flight line. Go take well behaved kids and enjoy

Yep, this place absolutely kills it in every single regard.Airport food usually sucks and usually disappoints, but St. Nick is the only one worth your time. The restaurant is easy to find and is set back in the main airport building. The main dining room is sizeable and opens up onto the airfield for additional seating. The weather has been terrible, so I haven't tried it, but I can't wait to sit outside and watch the planes. The service is always stellar, and they absolutely fill my diet coke addiction with constant refills.Everything they serve from the burger, the breakfast sandwich, the nachos, the fries, the queso (it's Alfredo, not queso), the vinegar aioli, and the surprisingly life-affirming Mahi Mahi blows me away each time.I tried them once and ended up eating there 5-6 times in two weeks. Visiting family has also loved coming here repeatedly.I'm a fan and will always be a customer ad long as I live in the area.

Great food, unique and delicious. The Shrimp and Grits is a favorite. Relaxed atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend.
Great chicken tacos with freshly fried tortillas. There’s a wonderful view of the runways with lots of planes to watch through the day. I really enjoyed my short stay!

Went in on a Sunday around 11:30, no wait time and decent amount of seating for a small establishment. Staff were pleasant as well. Sat at a high top table, seats were surprisingly comfortable and not too high up unlike most places where I would struggle to get in my seat here I didn't have any trouble. Def recommend the Elote as an app it was really flavorful and delicious. I got the mdh all american burger and my mom got the steak frites, both came with a generous portion of fries and everything was delicious. Will be back in the future to try some items from the breakfast menu!

St Nicholas Brewey at the SIUC airport is a fantastic restaurant. The food was excellent, service was great, and the patio is amazing. Getting to watch the airplanes take off while you eat is phenomenal. I recommend anyone with a college student to take advantage of this great venue and atmosphere.
