Came at a quiet time and was able to enjoy Chicken burrito freshly made by friendly staff - definitely will be back when I am in the area next!

Order nachos and the chips were stale, the guacamole had a bubbly consistency and the ground beef test bad. Spent $14 and took one bite and will never eat there again. The worker seemed like he did not want to be there, and top it off there was no lids for the fountain drinks.

I rated it 1 star only because it didn't allow me to rate it any less, Al Pastor had zero flavor, place was dirty, the person there looked like he didnt want to be there and they gave us expired chocolate milk. Definitely not coming

The salsas were all spoiled as you can see on the picture. The large one was bubbling when I opened it. I wish I could upload a video. Although some reviews were read, I decided to give it a try. Never again! Apparently this establishment likes to serve spoiled, expired rotten food. Food inspector needs to make a visit! Order included steak burrito and tacos, meat was dry and cold.

It was ok.. nice looking very clean place, very nice person running the restaurant but the food like had a bland taste to it.

When your salsa is bubbly, it means it's spoiled!! The plastic containers were puffed, making them difficult to open.My husband and I tried this place on August 23rd. We ordered a steak burrito; the meat had no flavor, was dry and cold. We also ordered steak tacos which were tasteless and cold !! I called to complain about the salsas and ask them to throw whatever they had in the refrigerators. Although an apology was extended, I am appalled at how some food servers will serve awful and spoiled salsas. This establishment needs a food inspector!

Amazing service, great food, affordable prices . You can go wrong with this place I personally believe it is the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to

I will be as objective as possible when I say this, but there are so many better options in the area than El Callejon. I've been trying Mexican restaurants all over the Naperville/Aurora area, and El Callejon did not hit the mark, at all... $16.50 for a burrito and chips, 16.50!!!! Do not order the pastor from this restaurant, it is a salty mess that should not fall far from a high school cafeteria. Drive a mile north down IL Route 59 to Taco Dale, where you won't pay for chips and salsa. Plenty of better, less expensive options in the area. El Callejon was completely empty on a Thursday afternoon, and despite this, the soda machine was broken. While I'm no expert in Mexican food or restaurant management, this was not a good experience. Plenty of other options that won't break your wallet!

Maybe an bad day.. but the two ladies in cooking area didn't prepare the food as required. The young lady that took the order was very pleasant. When I got home it was too far to go back to complain. I don't believe I'm going back. First time visiting.

A little pricy for the area considering you can get similar items for cheaper at nearby places, and the taste is just bland. Almost like the food is premade and reheated. The restaurant itself is immaculately clean and while it seems there aren't many employees, the ones there have been very professional. Normally when I walk into a taqueria I am greeted with a warm and flavorful aroma, but when I walk into here I didn't get that. I hear no chopping, grilling, or sizzling. That, paired with the lacking taste, makes me question the overall quality of the dishes being served.

My boyfriend is Mexican and definitely is picky when it comes to authentic carne asada tacos. This place is SO GOOD! Double corn tortilla, horchata is amazing, home made guacamole, and beautifully marinated steak. Not too salty (like most places) and good vibes.

Good stuff at callenjon. The veggie burrito was good. The enchilada was ok, and probably the red sauce might've been the better choice, but we went with green this time. We also got some chips and guac which was ok. Nice little place for lunch.

Came in today for lunch and the place was dead. Only one guy was there picking up. No one else was dining. First time here. There was a lady cook so I thought that was odd as it’s always men in Mexican kitchens. Possibly the worst burrito I’ve had. Another red flag is they have Tuesday taco specials. A good Mexican restaurant doesn’t have specials.

I have heard that it is one of the good Mexican restaurants in the area that I know of. It is definitely an authentic restaurant just based on the tastes, the looks, and the overall flavor of their food. It’s been a while since I've been here and nothing really new. It is still a cute and clean spot with a nice interior and a relaxed atmosphere and vibe. The staff they have are also friendly and welcoming. I just ordered their El Mexicano al pastor burrito for takeout. It was pretty quick, and I never really got the chance to linger longer in the restaurant. I knew I missed their food, and I was really excited to eat it, so I ended up eating it on the way. It was a great satisfaction for me after I ate it. The food was still as good as before. I will be honest, because the al pastor was a bit dry for me, but the salsa was so great that it blended really well. It was really delicious and I regret ordering only one. The price is still reasonable. Their prices are generally reasonable. I cannot wait to be back again at this good restaurant. I highly recommend this authentic and delicious Mexican restaurant.
