Decided to give this place another chance. Visited here with a group of 11 friends for a Saturday lunch. We go to a different restaurant in Naperville every Saturday. Everyone commented that this restaurant was more expensive than our other lunches. Wine was super expensive and not that good for the price. Sandwiches were outrageous in price. We ended up spending $5-7 more each for our lunches than at other local restaurants. As for the food...the fries were warm and tasty, but the burger was coolish, not even lukewarm. I had ordered the bleu cheese burger. I had only one taste of bleu cheese. Definitely not worth the upcharge for the bleu cheese. Other restaurants will give us separate checks. Here (it took us 20 minutes) to pass around and try to figure out which line item was our meal and drink. At the end, we were short and someone had to study the total to figure out which item had not been paid for (soup and salad combo prices had been broken out). I hope we never return.

I being the small-town sort hadn’t heard of the Lazy Dog restaurants, but a wedding brought us 300 miles north, so we decided to try the Lazy Dog in Naperville. What a pleasant experience we had. My party of 3, including our foodie daughter, were seated promptly and cordially. Our server, Allie(sp? Sorry about that, couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. The interior of the restaurant is well-appointed and interesting. There were several TV’s going in the bar area, although we sat in the family dining area. Allie asked if this was our first time at Lazy Dog, and we said yes. A few minutes later, the manager showed up with a small comped hors d’ouvres, a nice chip dish we we enjoyed and appreciated. I ordered the southern fried chicken salad, with honey mustard dressing. I enjoyed it tremendously. There wasn’t so much there to be overwhelming, but when I finished I was well satisfied. Our foodie daughter ordered something else that came with chicken, but she asked to substitute with tofu. Why, I have no idea, but I know both she and my wife were complimentary of their choices. When we arrived at Lazy Dog it looked like the parking lot was pretty full, but don’t be put off by that appearance. The restaurant can hold a lot of guests, and, as I said, we were seated promptly. Kudos to Allie and the good folks at Lazy Dog for a pleasant evening dinner!

We sat at the bar and ordered a burger and a beer. It was cooked exactly the way we wanted and the service was exceptional. We really enjoyed our evening and will go back.

First time visit! Nice ambiance! We had the Chilaquies and the Ahi Nicoise Salad. The Chilaquiles was a little spicy as per the item being underlined on the menu as spicy. The salad was large and included a good number of Ahi slices. Both were tasty, Service was attentive.

My wife and I came here last Friday night and enjoyed it a lot. The place has a busy, bustling, but comfortable atmosphere. We were seated right away at a high-top...we may have had to wait a little bit if we wanted a booth. This place has a huge and diverse menu. All the food we got was tasty. The candied bacon is a must-try: we had it as an appetizer and then I got another order with dessert because we liked it so much. Good beer selection too--I sampled six beers across two flights and enjoyed them all. The "Lazy Dog Beer Club" beers were slightly better. Unfortunately, I don't remember our server's name, but he was very good and quick, even though the place was really busy. We'll definitely come back here next time we're in town!

Not sure what this place is trying to be - the menu had a bit of Asian, Mexican, American… none done well. We had some gluten free requirements and they did have a GF menu - sort of…no burgers or sandwiches because they don’t have gluten free bread. Bread is pretty basic - so they don’t really have a GF menu My order of chicken breast, red mashed potatoes and fruit was the most boring meal ever placed in front of me. The chicken looked more boiled than grilled, there wasn’t any red skin in the potatoes. It was served on a white dish with no garnish. And it was flavorless. A few spices would have added color and flavor. The mixed fruit was a watermelon wedge - that’s it. It’s fruit season here - could the mixed fruit have at least two fruits in it? Too many other good restaurants with direction and themes close by - won’t be going here again

This was SO GOOD!! A unique menu. By the name, I thought it would be typical sports bar food but oh no! I had the goat cheese + pepper jelly app, with Parmesan crisps. Omg!!! So good. Then, they have spaghetti squash which when trying to not eat pasta, is wonderful to find. It’s on the veggie side of the menu but let me have chicken instead of the beet balls. Oh and the local beer was good too. You won’t regret going.

I celebrated a friend's birthday here (my first time at the restaurant). I was astonished at the huge menu - there were so many choices, and everything looked wonderful. I had the Pad Thai, which came with chicken and shrimp. The portion was large - I'm going to enjoy the rest tonight with my son (yep, enough left for 2 more people!). For dessert, I had the pineapple upside-down cake with ice cream. Mmm! Quite delicious. I'm going to return many times, with more friends and family, to try more items on the menu. Great decor and wonderful service as well. Thank you for a wonderful lunch!

Very nice, open, clean interior. Service was good, even on a busy Saturday lunch period. Very large menu focused on classic pub food. Burgers for myself and my wife were very good. Nice selection of beer, including the house brews. Definitely worth a second visit.

We went here for brunch with friends and I wasn’t impressed. This is your typical trendy restaurant with overhyped/overdone food. Everything is “handcrafted” which just means it has extra sauces or spices to make it original… but it’s just not that great. My husband ordered a burger and it was covered in some weird sauce. He whispered to me “I just wanted a burger and fries.” If you want simpler or plain food, you’ll have to order off their kids menu. Even the chicken pot pie was over-spiced, full of onions, and overcooked. The best thing we ordered was the chicken quesadilla appetizer, it wasn’t spicy and tasted great. I should have ordered another for my meal. Also, the bunch menu is tiny and like the rest of the menu, overproduced. Good luck ordering a simple plate of bacon and eggs. Also, the restaurant was cold and extremely loud. So so loud. It needs sound absorbing panels. However, the decor was great and our server excellent so that was a plus. I probably won’t come back. I think they bank on their alcohol sales and appetizers and by the time the food comes, most people probably don’t notice the issues with the food.

We decided to try Lazy Dog after reading good reviews. But, overall, we were disappointed. It's a big barn of a room with tables and booths. We asked for a booth as we saw several open when we came in. The hostess kept trying to steer us to a table. She eventually relented when we looked disappointed. As we walked in past the hostess table, we could feel a breeze through the place that became more like an arctic wind as we got into the center of the restaurant. This was on an unusually cool summer evening, so clearly someone didnt adjust the A/C to match. Our server was very friendly but obviously new as she had to go back to get answers to a couple simple questions we had. But she did so with a smile and she was very accommodating to a couple little requests. I ordered the fish tacos and my wife had a french dip beef sandwich. I've had fish tacos in many places but this is the first time that the fish was in a battered, fried mini-slab that was like something in a fast food restaurant, just inserted into a taco shell. Not my style. I was able to smother it with the hot sauce they provided. The bread on my wife's french dip sandwich was stale, but she said that the beef was good. At least the beer was cold and the service was good. So, overall, we were mostly disappointed with the food and the uncomfortably cold room. It could have been an off-night for the restaurant, but there are a lot of other places to choose from. I doubt that we will return.
