Manager short and snippy. Employees are great. So let manager know if his customer service skills are less than what are expected from everyone else stay off the counter or stay home...................................

This is a big open building with muted light and jazz playing in the background. It looks like they stole their decor from Po Folks. It's also loud. Lots of people talking, kids screaming, staff calling out numbers, etc. And it's confusing. There are three counters, which one do I order at? They aren't marked. Is one for to go orders? Just for pasta or pizza? Shrug. I ordered, but I had to pick my Greek salad up at a different counter than fiance's Italian beef. Why? The salad was good and there was plenty of it. The grilled chicken on top was okay. It came with hot garlic bread. There wasn't much garlic on it but I still enjoyed it. Her Italian beef was good and her crinkle cut fries were okay. Basically everything is good but not great. They are a chain restaurant serving regional food. There are many better mom and pop joints but Portillos has the name. I do admit, ordering a salad at a place known for its beef may not be a fair way to judge. If we go back I'll try the Italian beef.

This place sucks , the workers are ignorant want to argue with customers but it all makes sense since the manager himself it's ignorant , very rude not polite at All tbh they should just fire the manager and rehired someone new with customer service . Manager MARK is TERRIBLE , I was in drive thru took so long to get my order and when asked where was my order he said he was busy . Like dude you should be fired and definitely corporate should get involve before customers just complete stop going there . I heard also from staff that this manager is rude to them . never ever have I visit a Portillo's with so many staff being rude to their customer's . He is lucky I even left one star !!!!!

I came in and order a hotdog with ketchup and pickle large cheese fry and large coke. I was at fault for not looking at the screen closely and not looking at my receipt other then the number but the lady taking my order repeated everything I said so I imagined my order was right but to my surprise the hotdog was loaded with ketchup and no pickle and I had a small fry. The person taking orders needs better training on taking orders bc she heard what I said but couldn't put it in the computer right

I ordered the Penne Diavolo pasta and asked the cashier to make sure the pasta had enough sauce on it because every time I order pasta at this location there is hardly any sauce on the pasta. I looked in my bag before I left to check the pasta. To my surprise they had a cup of sauce in the bag so I never opened the pasta. I got home and once again no sauce on the pasta and I also found out they charged me over $2 for extra sauce. I live close to this location and frequent it weekly but I will travel to another location if this is how they treat you at this location.

The most unwelcome, restaurant is Portillo's. All the time they close sections and make you feel that you make a bad choice to go there. They are open late but after 9:00pm they look at you like enemies!

TWO HOT DOGS AND A FRENCH FRY $13.23 , witness all those prior from Florida, California and Ohio giving great reviews for a place they maybe have been to once. At prices like these , ya might as well find a Chicago Red Hot stand one of the several dozens around which will have better and more affordable Chicago food AND some stuff these guys don't offer anymore. Since ya know, they too busy selling you a Onion Ring Burger .....

I have always liked Portillo's (Barnelli's) Rigatoni with Vodka sauce, however the last time I ordered it there was barely any sauce covering the top pasta and no sauce on the pasta underneath. So this time I ordered extra sauce, for which I was charged $2.09 plus tax, for a half a cup of sauce. This time , upon checking the bottom noodles, sure enough, there was no sauce on them. This is packaging fraud. Is it wrong that you have to purchase extra sauce in order to have all of your pasta covered?

Dogs are still good! Barnelli's has good food but not as before... unfortunate. Beefs are no longer awesome. They are terrible. You get more bread, with barely any beef. The beef is over boiled and lacks flavor. Unfortunate, when Dick owned the business, food was real good. Killer beefs! Even the beef in a croissant was good. To me it seems the beginning of Chicago Italian beef downfall began with Boston joes. When that closed most beef stands went with him. Boston had a great beef! If you remember it, it was on Chicago and grand. On a personal note, I believe Frannies, Chickies, Bob-O'S and Buona beef are the remaining good places left. Sad really, we used to have many place for beef. No longer are those days.

Wanted to say Riley was so kind and helpful late tonite. Had worked all day and so hungry and he was so patient when taking my order. Thanks Portillos in Niles! Wishing the best for Riley...one day he'd make a great manager and owner. So rare to meet someone that young that is kind to customers. Great job!!!

If you want to wait 35 minutes in the drive through, this is the place for you. They are so disorganized. They have people at the back of the line getting their food and multiple cars just waiting over 40 minutes at the front. Make it make sense.

Worst service ever went at 11:08 never did drive-through until yesterday I didn't know they didn't take cash through there? And the guys instead of saying we don't take cash just card but if you would like you can go inside they take cash no he tells us we don't take cash here okay bye like nothing now I get it was the last hour we all wanna go home after a long shift but don't be rude. We go inside and the host don't same name was like okay you want to order like excuse me what's up with everyone and their attitude I work in a the food service too but don't be rude. The food was delicious like always ofc place was nice and clean just not the bathrooms they smell like they never clean them maybe it smell like that bc it was the end of the night but that bathroom smell like it hasn't been clean in 3 weeks.

Place is taking a big step back. One of the last times I was in, they promoted ordering online and picking up through drive through for "quick service." So I did that, and then get told, I really should've gone inside for online orders. It's not what you say but how you say it. Just bad attitude. And, it just so happened it was the same guy who told me about ordering online and picking up through the drive though. Whatever, I get my food and go on. Get home, a couple orders of garlic bread missing. Call back and he says he'll give me credit for one. "For one?" Yes, we'll credit you back for one. At that point, wasn't worth arguing. I hung up and came here to post. What a joke. Went corporate and service went to hell.
