These guys here really care how the perfect the Chinese fast food at its finest cooking perfection, I really missed them. I been traveling everywhere in West Coast where lot of population of Asian food but can't find a decent healthy Chinese food at it fine dining too. I missed Henry & his wife..very caring in their cooking recipes. My favorites from them is Singapore noodle, egg foo young, beef & broccoli, lo mein noodle OMG perfection! Too many to list as I'm sitting in my sunny California home to list. I miss them so much. Bloomington/Normal is blessed to have China Star restaurants. Not much choice but only the best choice restaurant in the area. Now that I have moved & travels everywhere there's no place like Bloomington/Normal..for healthy eating out. I missed Illinois but not the cold snow...

Traveling on Christmas led to few options for lunch.We found this Chinese restaurant in normal Illinois just off I55, exit 165.The sweet and sour chicken was really good.The lo mein also was very good.Portions of those lunch specials were more than adequate for the 3 of us to eat to satisfaction.And reasonably priced.Also the staff was friendly and welcoming.

Stopped in while passing through town for lunch specials. Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant could use a little TLC, but everyone I saw came for takeout. Definitely would get food from here again.Vegetarian options: Vegetable Lo Mein was good and vegetable egg roll was delicious.

I shame my hunger for distracting me from taking photo evidence of the to-go perfection I got from China Star. Their (veggie) egg rolls are the best I've ever had in my life. Their fried rice and veggie+tofu dishes were DELISH. Seriously hit the spot, very fast and friendly service, I will be back again and again!

This is one of those real restaurants where there is pride in what they make, everything I've had from them has been undeniably amazing. I've been through rough times and this is as close to comfort food as you can get. Lately I've been going through an especially rough period with a dog who hasn't eaten for 14 days. All I could do was turn to force-feeding or else she'd just perish. I came home with my food and this fragile and weak dog slowly but surely makes her way over to me and starts begging for my egg roll. Most I've seen her eat in a long time. I couldn't say thankyou enough. Even Coco knows it's good severely ill or not.Tldr: If it was our last meal it'd better be China Star❤️

Food is decent enough, but insanely over priced for run of the mill “cheap” Chinese food. $50 is robbery for take out consisting of two large containers and a combo that ends up feeding three people, especially considering half the food was just rice, noodles, and broccoli. Overall, a very poor value.

Partially raw beef Mongolian style. Tried it because it was close. My mistake. Never again.
Have been a customer for over 10 yrs. No more. The prices are now up over 60% and don't make sense. 2 large meals and 1 order of crab rangoon for $45. Nope. The beef was fatty, curry had weak flavor, and the rice was mushy and overcooked. Save yourself the disappointment and the cash and get anything else.
