Tried this place as a fluke, and was very happy. They are changing their menu, but these have to be some of the best French fries I've ever had. I really enjoyed the sourdough BBQ grilled cheese. My son said the chicken tenders were okay.

Just had our holiday party in their beautiful, bright and happy private space...it was awesome! Brunch was plentiful and delicious. Service was perfection! Can't say enough about how great this space is for a party, or just going for brunch, lunch a drink or dinner. Amazing place is open all year long, which if you didn't know about it, be happy you do now!

I hosted a private party here and I'll gladly host future events here again! Chelsea the Event Coordinator was great to work with! She was so accommodating and available 24/7 to answer questions. The staff was super friendly and on top of everything. The catering was delicious and the food was cooked onsite. Last but not least the venue is gorgeous! My guests were so impressed! The private event space is beautifully decorated and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the 18 hole golf course is stunning!! I highly recommended Acorn Grill for your next party or private event!

Ordered the Friday fish fry. It was good but actually my leftover was even better the next day heated in a fry pan and made into a sandwich on rye with mayo and mustard.

We were looking for Friday dinner options near us which brought the Acorn Grill and Terrace's Friday Fish Fry to our attention. The Acorn Grill and Terrace is located at the Northbrook Park District's golf course off of Dundee Rd. The building is brand new. The dining room is small but modern and comfortable. In the warmer months they have a patio to increase capacity. The service was friendly although it seemed like there was one Guy covering the entire restaurant. The food wasn't bad but it also wasn't good enough for us to say we'll be back for the fish fry. The meal came with 3 cod filets, fries, two hush puppies, cole slaw and tartar sauce. All for $18.I think we'll be back to try a different menu item.

I haven't been here in a couple of years may I say it's been a 360 from when I last came to what is now called "Acorn Grill and Terrace". The food was fantastic! I had the Braised shorts ribs, and my girlfriend had the fish fry. My server was wonderful she let us know that they were open through the winter which is great to hear because if the whole menu is as good as their specials I will be coming back! Bravo! I wouldn't have expected a golf course restaurant to have good quality food. Also, the ambience was great too. 10/10

Wonderful service and GREAT FOOD. The chefs make everything like a high end restaurant on the gold coast, but at a gem of a golf course. It is a must to go, even if not golfing.

In the past I have always enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay on the patio with my meal. That has all changed as I was served my wine in a plastic Dixie cup today. I went into the bar area and asked for a wine glass and was told I had to eat inside to have that, a new rule . Wine is never to be served in plastic cups, I guess if on a beach at a burger stand maybe. There are plenty of outdoor patio places to enjoy a glass of wine in a proper glass, sadly not here anymore.

OK, the good the bad and the ugly! The good, I met a friend for happy hour drinks and they don't really have a happy hour but the cocktails were only $10 which I think is a good value. The bad, lots of people sitting outside, and some of them were smoking or vaping, which to me is disgusting. The ugly, if you're a woman and halfway attractive, there are tons of older men there that may make you feel uncomfortable. I would definitely go back because I could just ignore the men but smoking where there's food is gross and unacceptable.
