Great new bar restaurant. New construction, open feel, bar in the middle. Had a work party there with drinks and great munchies food. The sliders were so tasty and good, both BBQ pork and burger sliders. Cinnamon pretzel bites woth honey butter were amazing.

Our waiter was atrocious. I can't even list all of the ways he neglected us. It's too long. And this is the second time we've gone when the waiter (different each time) seemed neglectful and angry to be there. The St. Charles location is not this way. The food was excellent.

Had to ask twice for water/lemon served Manhattan straight up, didn't ask for it that way, always get one large cube at every other restaurant I order it at Coffee was tepid to say the least, she never came back with a warm up, only the check

Stopped in for a beer and a pretzel after shopping the mall. Wasn't expecting much and was annoyed to see the pretzel was $25....but it was massive and so good. My beer was solid and the atmosphere was nice. Lots of TV, open concept and bright. I'd definitely go back. Wish I could vote 4.5 stars but I'm choosing 5 vs 4. Parking is annoyingly limited.Parking: Small lot crowded with Fogo de Chow and a diamond store. Had to park across the street.

First off, Suzy was probably the best waitress we've ever had. She was very sweet and attentive. The food and beer were outstanding. I only wish the beer was a little cheaper, since you're actually at the brewery. We have never had a bad experience at any of the Alter Breweries.

I just stopped to watch the first half of the Super Bowl at the bar then waited for my partner to show up as he had plans for dinner. He's not a Super Bowl fan so Jenn was great as my bartender/server as all I had was the flight of beers & French fries. She was great in accommodating me. The host Jasmine was great in letting me stay at the bar to see if my partner was going to show up & join me at the bar but he didn't come to later after the end of the first half of the game. Everything worked out. ?

I visited with a group of 7 and we all were underwhelmed with the quality of food - especially at the price point. This was our second time coming. The first time was right after open and we had a great experience. However this time was different. People in the group got the wings that were way over-breaded, the southwest chicken salad that was drenched in dressing/soggy. Pretzel was good though!

Went here for a goodbye party for work - the Party Coordinator was great in helping me book a table due to our number of people, while not wanting to book a full party. The waitress was attentive and great with our table! The food is always amazing and this is one of my favorite locations to go to.

Alter Brewing + Kitchen in Oak Brook offered a pleasant respite after a day of running errands. This local hub was lively upon my Friday evening visit, yet it managed to maintain a comfortable atmosphere without descending into the realm of the overly crowded or noisy—a commendable feat for a bustling weekend night.Locating a spot was a breeze, with an open seat at the bar and several high tops available, suggesting a well-managed space that accommodates a good flow of patrons. This detail is worth noting for those who dread the typical weekend night scramble for seating at popular spots.Once seated, I noticed the service was a touch dispassionate. The staff, while not overtly unfriendly, could have infused a bit more warmth into their interactions. Nevertheless, the service was functional, and the drinks more than compensated for this slight shortfall. The specialty cocktails were a highlight of the visit. The Cherry Cordial martini I sampled was an embodiment of their mixological prowess. This cocktail was a delightful dance of flavors, skillfully balancing booze and sweetness with a sophistication that elevates it beyond a mere drink—it was a liquid dessert with a kick. The richness of the earthy coffee undertones provided a warming counterpoint to the sweetness, creating a layered drinking experience. While it leaned towards the sweeter side, it did not overwhelm, remaining a sumptuous treat for the palate. The establishment's commitment to variety and quality was further evident in their extensive selection of beers and seltzers. It's clear that Alter Brewing + Kitchen takes pride in its craft, catering to a diverse range of tastes. The seasonal Cherry Seltzer I tried was a testament to their inventive seasonal offerings. Light, refreshing, and with just the right hint of fruitiness, the seltzer was an excellent choice for those looking for something less potent than a cocktail but still desiring something with character and a unique taste profile.Although the kitchen's offerings were tempting, time constraints and the kitchen's busyness led me to defer a culinary exploration to a future visit. Yet, the bustling atmosphere and the array of dishes I observed heading to other tables suggest that the food would likely be on par with the high-quality drinks I enjoyed. For anyone seeking a vibrant spot for bar food and drinks, Alter Brewing + Kitchen seems to hit the mark. It's a good option for those in the Oak Brook area looking for a place that balances an upbeat environment with the ability to maintain a sense of space and comfort. I would recommend it for a casual meet-up or a spontaneous drink after work, with a mental note to return when there's more time to sample the kitchen's creations.
