a total ripoff at $80 a person. only one glass of champagne included, paltry and inelegant food, and the water for the tea wasn't even hot! The room itself was unattractive, extremely noisy, and had NONE of the advertised spring floral bouquets -- just some sad red roses at each table. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

Our first afternoon tea at the Drake was schedule to celebrate my granddaughters 18 birthday. Our experience was fantastic. Great service, great food and wonderful tea and champy. Thanks for making it special.

Definitely not worth $75.00 per person plus tax and tip. The ambiance was not pretty...did not sing happy birthday to my granddaughter...music was an automatic piano...no garden...definitely would not go back there.

Came here on a Saturday just for the high tea service with a friend. This is my first time visiting the Drake hotel in Oakbrook ever as well as the colonial room. What I love is that parking was very easy and very free. The ambience as soon as you walk in of the hotel is very modern with some classical traditional touches. The place overall is very impressive and a great place to host probably have meals as well as even parties. I will say the tea service itself was good and decent, but it wasn't impressive. Meaning I thought that for two people they would mirror all of the food offerings however that was not the case. Also, I felt that the food offering, especially for the savory items was quite limited. There were only nine choices. However, the choices were all loose leaf tees, which was great. The high tea also includes a free glass of champagne, which is always a nice touch. The place are absolutely beautiful and take great photographs. A stand out from the entire experience was definitely the staff which includes the waiter and the support partners that he had. They were super attentive and friendly, which always makes for a good experience. I think for the price and for what you get it was a little short and I will continue to try out high teas to find just the right one.

This used to be the greatest holiday buffet around. We would go every Easter, Mother's Day, and Thanksgiving. This past Easter it not only went downhill, it dropped off a cliff. Their menu when I made a reservation showed lamb, pecan pie, tres leeches cake, which are all my favorites, and the reason I made a reservation. They had none of those. Really, an Easter without lamb? They had some pork instead. To make matters worse, they charge you a tip upfront and the service was terrible. We didn't get our first glass of champagne until we were sitting for 15 minutes. Our first refill was a half hour later. Then when my girlfriend wanted coffee, the cup was broken and leaking. She called attention to one of the managers. That could have been a disaster had she picked it up and not noticed. Then the cream was sour which probably sat out at the table for 6 hours. This will be the last holiday buffet we spend their. Once you burn me you won't see me again.

Ventured out for Easter Brunch and while we anticipated it to be busy, we did not anticipate the poor service and the buffet being dirty. We were a party of 6, originally seated at a table set for 5 in the entry of the bussing station. It was clear that the 6th seat was removed because it would impede.the servers ability to move about. After being relocated (staff reluctant to move us because "tables were pre-assigned") no server approached our table. When 1 did approach, after about 15 min, asked if everyone wanted a mimosa (1 member under 21) no other beverages were offered. We asked if there were any instructions only to be met with "Is this your first time?" Fast forward to the serving line......chaos! Utensils were dirty, most trays were empty (we were mid-service window). Food was mediocre at best, limited options for vegetables (seasonal were over boiled brussel sprouts) and while hot food was warm, other items were room temp (e.g cakes were squishy, salads not chilled). This was definitely a one and done for our family.

Went there for Easter brunch. Got seated right away and wasn't rushed out of there. the brunch spread was vast and delicious. Would highly recommend this for a special brunch occasion. Server was attentive and friendly

My husband and I went for dinner. David, the waiter, went out of his way to make it an enjoyable experience. He began with drinks and even though I wasn't planning on drinking, he brought some wine to taste. The prisoner was excellent!!. Dinner was very beautiful and tasted wonderful. My husband had salmon and they did not skimp on the portion size. My burratta salad was very tasty and filling. The entire experience was wonderful. We will definitely go again!!

Reservations included one vegan and two vegetarians. Website stated the chef accommodated all diets. I mentioned our diets in the space for special requests. The week before our High Tea reservation date, I called the restaurant, spoke to a woman and she confirmed the chef has a printout of all requests and will have specific menu for our diets. We arrived, were seated, and the wait staff were not aware of any special requests. I told them I was assured the chef had our requests. It turns out, there were no vegan accommodations. They had no idea was a vegan diet entails, and just removed the meat/fish sandwiches. After we explained a vegan diet, they returned with sandwiches of raw vegetables on a bun. They also brought hummus/cucumber sandwiches, but the scones, cakes, desserts all had milk/egg/cheese. I give the wait staff a lot of credit to bring out some fruit and sorbet for a makeshift dessert. Certainly not what we expected from a High Tea service. Needless to say, the Drake should not advertise they accommodate special diets, and it's deceiving to confirm over the phone that the chef will have a Tea service for vegans. I have positive ratings for the wait staff, but am very disappointed in the food we were given for the prices they charged.

The food during the afternoon tea is absolutely horrible. If you have dietary restrictions, they are able to accommodate, but the gluten free options are honestly not even edible. The service is poor, and the quality and quantity for the price is absolutely not worth it. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Was so much fun to enjoy high tea with my daughter. Was fun to dress up a bit and be on your best mannerly behavior. The food was exactly what you'd expect for high tea. Servers totally understood that this is an experience for the diners. Only glitch in the whole thing was the table about 20 feet away that brought their two young boys, one of which had a horrible cough and did not cover his mouth.

Tuna ceviche was cut unevenly, big chunks with subpar crackers to go with it. Not as good as it could have been, or should have been. Fillet was undercooked on the border of raw and not tender with too much fat for that type of cut of meat. We were given the wrong drinks, service was extremely slow, but friendly. Bread came after we had appetizers and salad, and the butter was rock-hard, making it unspreadable Food was very underwhelming and disappointing. A $400 meal should've been phenomenal not low-grade as this was. We will not ever go back.

One time only experience. We went for tea & we were a little disappointed. The room was lovely and our servers were very nice. It started off good with champagne for the adults & kiddie cocktails for the younger kids. We were served tea and the food and that's where I felt underwhelmed. The sandwiches tasted like they had been sitting out awhile. The bread felt hard, and one of my scones was burnt on the bottom. To me, this is a high price experience but not worth it. Plus I was charged an additional fee because it's the holidays yet we essentially got the same menu with a few desserts in red & green. I would think twice before considering this.
