Mediocre at best, food is okay, service is great, but management is terrible, so I've heard. I feel bad for the staff.

I wanted so bad for this to be good. Place looks amazing.. it has the feel and the look. If the food only matched. I got shrimp tacos and it was basically onions and cilantro. Shrimp were small and the tacos lacked flavor.Also the horchata was really good as well.I personally wouldn’t recommend the beef quesadillas. Got them for the kids and na not good.The goodChips and salsa seem to be freshly made and had good flavor.Also the staff was kind and attentive. But seem to be over worked and understaffed.

Agave restaurant very friendly restaurant GREAT service, our server was the bartender David was his second day of work ,Aleska was very helpful to help to the new hire, we need more people as them to make a better placer of the first day of work for the new hire,I like went in restaurant co-worker help each other .Come by to Agave and try their food!

Stopped here for an early dinner with my fiancé. For starters the table we were seated at was still dirty with remnants of food from the previous guests. When I asked the server about re-wiping the table, she seemed offended. When I came back from the bathroom the table was wiped but left dripping wet with a strong bleach smell. AND THE TABLE WAS STILL DIRTYMoving on from that my food arrived at the table COLD!! had to send it back to be reheated.Again, moving on from that, the taste and flavor was definitely lacking.To add insult to injury the menu is definitely overpriced for such bland tasting food. Don't forget the automatic 20% added to the bill. THERE WERE LITERALLY 6 PEOPLE AT THE MOST IN THE PLACE. You can already guess that I won't be back. hope this helps someone.

Place is Pretty. Contemporary Mexican in my opinion. Service was above average. Unfortunately, we were charged 20% gratuity for a party of 2 without being informed. Not stated anywhere. The couple next to us left angrily stating they would never be back. I understand it's not the staffs fault. However, if management is going to Secretly add 20%, the staff should divulge to avoid the awkwardness she proclaimed. How Horrible the owners put that upon their staff! I've been Industry for decades and Never witnessed such an atrocitie!I left my number in hopes the owners call. If Not, this review will be duplicated as much as possible. I'd rather have a B.S. Covid Tax than a Hidden Scam after your credit card has been run.Sincerely,A Local Teacher

I’m sharing with you an atrocious and miserable experience at the Agave restaurant. The evening began as a celebration with family which turned in to a nightmare and a loss of appetite. Our family consisted of eight people. We all placed our orders and we waited for our food to be served. Finally, one family member received their food while everyone else had to wait. Ten minutes later someone else was served and so everyone had to wait to be served their food. Why would a restaurant serve dinner one at a time instead of all together?“Thirty minutes” later, the waitress came to the table with the final two people still waiting to be served, when she informed us that they ran out of “chicken”. The restaurant was not even half full of customers. The waitress made suggestions which involved steak/beef but this was not an option as one person does not eat steak/beef. How can a restaurant be out of food? Why was there no communication to the guests prior to ordering? Unfortunately, one family member left disappointed, disgusted and outraged during a time when it was to be celebration!To add more gas to the fire, three different servers kept coming over to our table with other people’s orders, pure chaos!When confronting the waitress there was no manager/owner around to resolve this situation. The waitress took no responsibility or ownership for the inferior service. She was disrespectful, blamed others and offered no viable solution.Lack of communication on running out of food.Long wait times.The restaurant was extremely cold.We asked for a spoon and received a fork three times.Not serving food at the same time so everyone can eat at the same time.No ownership or accountability to this situation.No compensation for bad service.Rating should be zero!I encourage you to go somewhere else otherwise you will go through the same experience!Sent from Mail for Windows

The steak and cheese bowl is so good! It came on a big platter and would have been enough food for 2 or 3. The meat was perfectly seasoned and tender. The rice on the side was equally delicious. Service was great. We will definitely go again soon!

Walked in and was greeted right away. My party was allowed to sit anywhere we wanted. I ordered a strawberry frozen Margarita which was AWESOME! And the enchiladas de mole were DELICIOUS ?
Very clean restaurant. The food was excellent. I had the enchiladas best I have had in awhile. The server was very attentive. The salsa was warm which was new to me but It was rasty

Under the brand new Owner Martin the Agave is Back !!! The food is better than it has ever been....the cleanliness factor is 10 put of 10 and the drinks are hand made Artisan, not that plain old Margarita~ But the food is jusy so great and finally we have real Mexican Food in thr South Burbs! OLE & HURRAY ??? ❤️Vegetarian options: Had veggie tacos they were marvelous !!
