“Hands down to the best ramen and Japanese curry place in the South Loop! Everything was delicious! I went twice during my 3 days vacation in Chicago. I was so lucky that Chinatown was only 15min walking from my hotel. I wish I could go anytime I want but I live too far.Service is super great! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes Japanese food. For sure I’ll be back whenever I’m close.“
“My fiancé and I stopped in for an early dinner yesterday, and were very pleased with the experience. Our server was amazing: all smiles, patient, and polite. We ordered 4 of their fruit teas (Dragon, 2 Mango & passion fruit) and they did not disappoint. The dumplings were probably my favorite part, the spicy beef ramen was delicious and filling, and while the crab Rangoon was a little too sweet for my taste, it was still yummy. Everything was hot, fresh, fast and beautifully displayed. 10/10 will be back again!“
“Where else can you go and have entrees go by on a conveyor? Makes it interesting just waiting to see what is coming next. If you don't see what you want then you can order what you want and it is delivered by a special train. Also the food is priced by the color of the plate.“
“Good ramen with a chill atmosphere. Seating is unique and comfortable and the service is top notch. In addition to all of this, the prices are also quite reasonable for what you get. I will definitely keep coming back and tell my friends about this spot!“
“Food was amazing. The gyoza and sushi were top notch and the ramen really took me back to my time in Japan. The vibe of the hole in the wall restruant is perfect for a date night with a significant other. I will be coming back here frequently.“
“I LOVE takoyaki but it's almost impossible to find on the South Side. This was perfect. Soft and savory. The crispy chicken ramen was flavorful and plentiful. A quiet and serene environment. Our for was served quickly and it was piping hot! I would definitely recommend.“
“Food is great. It's a cute little shop worth eating at. The meat lovers ramen was so delicious and definitely didn't disappoint with the amount of meat in it. The shrimp churro was tasty as well. The service was great the waitress were attentive.“
“Forbidden noodles' primarily culinary focus is Japanese Ramen and stir fry selections. The curry is good and tastes very much like the mild golden ramen brand Japanese curry that I make at home occasionally. The chicken and broccoli added to the standard rice and carrot/potato curry mixture were of good quality. The Tonkotsu had very good pork, and surprisingly, it included broccoli as well. The more common ramen garnishes of onions, baby bock choy, egg, naruto (fish cake), and seaweed were also in this bowl and tasted good. They have a cheese, steak, and jalapeño egg roll that was amazing, and yes, you should try one. Forbidden Noodles is a great addition to downtown La Grange and for this area, this is a good choice for ramen in the area. If you are searching for your favorite bowl of ramen anywhere around chicagoland, feel free to check my reviews of alternate ramen restaurant options.“
“My fiancee and I had a dinner date here and it was so nice! The food is as delicious as it looks and it looks amazing! I got the Tonkotsu Ramen and he got the Spicy Beef Ramen (it was really spicy whew but he liked it a lot). We got Crab Rangoons too they were delicious! Definitly give this place a try it's a fun experience and a very relaxing place.“
“You need to get to here! ? This #hiddengem recently made Infatuation Chicagos list of best ramen places in the city and they’re the only ramen spot staying open until 1:30am! Yes, you can still eat good, late. The Japanese food here is to be enjoyed in their izakaya vibes, which are casual pubs that you can grab lots of small dishes to sample.Honorable mention to the Chicken Curry Ramen and Taiyaki with ice cream - my two favorite items from my visit! I also had a really good Mai Tai and lychee martini.Go check them out for some good food and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you!“
“I had my order to go, the broth was great and so was the pork. I do think it had an okay amount of spice for it being “spicy” but I think I will order more chili next time. The noodles for me were too springy, but next time I just have to tell them to cook them longer. I got extra pork since I felt it wouldn’t have been enough and it’s a good thing I ordered the extra. BEST crab ragoons I ever had! And they were full, usually they skimp on the ration filling but they were amazing. I am definitely going back to eat there ?“
