Awesome menu choices--light, medium, and dark roast coffee all ready to go, and a really nice artistic ambiance!

We stopped in on a Saturday morning to grab coffee to go. We were asked three times, “Are you dining in or taking out?” The pace was urgent and staff was quite short with us. My friend wasn’t sure what flavors of muffins they had but panicked because the barista seemed exasperated and ended up not getting what he wanted. We were polite and grateful because we knew they were busy, but would have loved a bit more kindness. It’s a great location, had fun live music for a Saturday morning, and the drink hit the spot at a decent price. For take-out, was a slightly anxiety-inducing experience. I’d like to go back for dine-in to maybe be able to enjoy the experience more.

I believe this is now a Kribi Coffee. Coffee is great, and the food items are also very good. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I've gone in to order coffee and then sat down at the tables and wait staff has come up to me and told me that the tables are for order/dining-in. Where are we supposed to sit, especially when it's cold out? There are only a handful of tables outside. Overall great coffee and food but confusing policies.

Buzz (by Kribi) has the same gritty charm but with a somewhat enhanced menu. Items are fine. Service is acceptable. I look forward to more improvements.

I've lived in the neighborhood 10 years, stopping at Buzz. Seeing some irritating things but this last visit made me write this review. The coffee and hot choc has been mediocre the past 18 months - I had hoped with new ownership it would improve but no. Seriously, even a measly half-pump more chocolate would make this a decent cup. Right now it's flavorless. But the reason for this review: Buzz upcharges $2 for alternative milk per drink. Really?? This is bordering on discrimination for people who cannot drink cow milk. We will no longer come here due to this upcharge and the mediocrity we get in return. This is your neighbor talking, Buzz and Kribi, a family of 4 patrons!!!

Place seems like it has a hard time functioning as a cafe. I was a barista for years, and none of the places I worked would have tolerated this kind of stuff. I have been 3 times now, and each visit has been baffling. One time it took 25 minutes to get a correct iced americano (maybe the most basic drink on the menu) with no crowd or line, and it was still a different size than the one I asked for because "that's just what we do with iced drinks." I gave them a third chance today, but it may have been the last straw. I came again during my gap between jobs only to be somewhat rudely told that, despite several people working and several people at tables, that I would not be able to sit down with my coffee at all "due to staffing." What, do you have to assign someone to watch me or something? Just cut table service if you don't have a server, instead of turning away customers. Now I have to find someplace else, after going out of my way to come here, and will not get to sit and relax between jobs. Not exactly going to be rushing back here.

The items marked vegan on the menuare NOT vegan. New ownership decided to switch vendors and the wraps contain honey. This is unacceptable, it needs to be shown on the menu that these items are not vegan. Do not advertise something as being vegan when it’s not. We wouldn’t have known if our server didn’t check for us, if you’re ordering online I’m sure you wouldn’t know. Our server was great and helpful, the tofu was good and the drinks were also tasty. But seriously, fix your menu to have vegan options that are ACTUALLY vegan.

Living just a few blocks away and wanting to support a local business, for better or worse my wife and I have repeatedly given Buzz Cafe the benefit of the doubt, especially as new ownership took over. I'm sad to say that we are done trying. The final nail in the coffin was my wife ordering quiche, which was labeled as a vegetarian option. My wife does not eat red meat, and what do we find in the quiche? Pork. How could you be so careless when it comes to people's dietary restrictions? Beyond that, service has always been terribly inconsistent and is seemingly run by a revolving cast of teenagers. I've waited ~15 minutes at a time multiple times for a simple latte, only for it to be poorly made. I'm done trying their stale/tasteless pastries. I could give an even longer list of times I've been underwhelmed or just flat out disappointed by Buzz Cafe. I hate writing such a poor review for a local business, but they truly need to get their act together.

Kind of expensive and unsatisfying.Service is fine but the place is just unorganized. Also do we really need another Kribi in the area ? LolHow this place ever had more than 4 stars is crazy.

Terrible service. The sign says “Wait here to be seated”. 3 tables of the plenty that were empty and I waited 10 min for someone to ask if I was waiting to eat there. I said yes, and they said “just sit wherever you like”. I sat down. The waiter…( kid?) asked if I wanted table service and if I was eating there…. I said … yes. He left. 15 more minutes later he asked if I wanted to eat there and order something …. I said yes. He took out his pad of paper…. I asked for a MENU……. I told him I never got one. And he says… “Um ok, yea….” And walks off to give me a paper menu.. 5 more minutes later I got it… and I just walked out.Terrible service…. To wait 30 min in an almost empty cafe for just a menu?! … For a place to claim an energetic and welcoming vibe? Nah, not at all.. not worth it.

I visited Buzz Cafe on a weekday afternoon. The cafe is located on a side street, off the arts district. The interior was indeed full of art, from the ones hanging on the walls to the colorful mix and match tables and chairs. When I went, it was neither busy nor desolate but it took a while to get seated and get service. The staff seemed nice. The menu listed breakfast and lunch offerings along with a variety of standard drinks. The descriptions looked good. I ended up ordering the daily special: Chance's Bowl - hash browns, Swiss [cheese], garlic grilled mushrooms, two eggs, sour cream. I also ordered a spiced hot chocolate (thinking it might be somewhat like Mexican hot chocolate with warming spices or maybe a house blend of spices). What happened in reality was lackluster (even that is a generous description). The daily special of hash browns contained a deli slice of cheese that did not taste like Swiss cheese. There was no salt or seasoning on the hash browns; and no salt on the table. There were no grilled mushrooms or any hint of garlic. Two eggs were present but unremarkable and unseasoned. A dollop of sour cream sat there in a paper cup, hoping to be the most exciting thing on the plate. And a few thin slices of fruit were supposed to make it look better or make me feel better. Maybe both. The "spiced" hot chocolate ($4) tasted like a powder mix with a sprinkle of cinnamon and some canned whipped cream. Was the daily special worth the unadvertised $14 price? Definitely no. I could've made this much better myself at home. Maybe I shouldn't have taken a chance on Chance and ordered from the regular menu or checked Yelp for tips. The cafe might be enjoyable if you're not picky about what food you'll actually get. The interior is artsy and fun. I may not purposely go back but maybe there's hope that it will be better on a different day.

I've gone to the Buzz Cafe for years. But since it's been owned by Kribi? It's as big of a ripoff as you can find when it comes to coffee.Last time I went, they charged 6 bucks for a coffee with an inch of milk. This time, I got a "Cafe au lait" listed at 3.50 and it was over 5 bucks. This happens every time. I'm not going here any longer. I'll remember to make an extra coffee on the days I would normally go, or to find a new spot.I'll also take this moment to mention that they were understaffed today. The employees are great- the management is terrible.
