Don't take my three stars as not being an endorsement of George's - it's a local staple with very solid diner food, it's just not going to blow your mind. I prefer "the other" diner in town personally, but if you're nearer to George's you'll get big portions of hearty food with friendly staff in walking distance of downtown Oak Park. There's a reason all the local Catholics love it for post-mass brunch!

Their servers are all nice folks. Get food in a timely fashion. I love my food hot and that's what I get, not lukewarm like some places.✔️

Facing a lengthy layover in Chicago, I sought refuge (and sustenance) at the iconic George's. Opting for a classic, I dove into their corned beef omelet – a revelation. Perfectly cooked and bursting with savory flavor, the tender corned beef was a textural and tastebud-pleasing counterpoint to the fluffy eggs. While the service was attentive, the true star of the show was this omelet, solidifying George's reputation as a Chicago brunch institution.

Reliable loud clean Greek breakfast joint, which I adore. Massive menu. Eggs and potatoes and rye toast and chocolate milk shake and grape jelly and grilled cheese and fries and children and wife. Three different kinds of hot sauce.

This was just overall, a horrendous experience from my point of view. The service was absolutely horrendous, our waitress (don't know her name cause she never introduced herself to us), came over to us the moment we sat down and said what can I get for you, what drinks do you want. My boyfriend and I hadn't even sat down at the table yet, which we are just water drinkers, however the point stands that we wouldn't have had time to look at the drinks or menu yet. She came back with our waters in a timely manner, but when we went to order the food. She cut us off, didn't let me choose the side that was supposed to be in my meal (a chicken Caesar wrap w/ no onion, was supposed to have one side and one soup). Then my boyfriend order (Florentine Benedict, which is also supposed to have a side and soup), he asked for fruit with his. She nodded and walked away without repeating our order or any form to us. That already sketched me out with the service. Then when we got our food, there was fruit on my plate with no other sides. Not what I ordered, and my boyfriend didn't get fruit on the side. The food actually tasted disgusting too, because the chicken for me was burnt, hard, and dry. His was extremely bland. The food was so terrible, that we didn't even finish any of it. When we left we asked to have $1 to remove they told us that they were sold out of soup for the day (first time it was said to us). Then the owner was so rude to us because he said just don't come back here if you don't like our service. Worst service ever, first time ever not tipping.

Georges is my favorite diner in town. For whatever reason, that triple-decker, turkey club and fries hits different. But go for Greek food too! Their pita and souvlaki plates are delicious. I love their scramblers, too. And same goes for the skillets. Just a great down to earth real American diner with good black coffee that keeps coming solid service a good fun, atmosphere and really good food. It might not change your life, but it'll be a really great part of it.

I visited for the first time a few days ago, and I must say I will be back. This is exactly what I have been looking for. The family restaurant isn't as common as they once were, and largely have been replaced by cookie cutter chain restaurants. So the atmosphere was right and the service was excellent as well. How was the food? I had the best omelette of my life. I am a sucker for good biscuits and gravy, but I had my doubts here. So I opted for the western style country omelette which comes with biscuits and the omelette is slathered in the gravy. My doubts were instantly erased the omelette and gravy were spot on. The biscuits were absolutely perfect. I even had a side of corn beef hash and that was crisp and perfect. Even while waiting for my food which was a short wait seeing food come out of the kitchen just made me want to try more and more things. Given the quality of the food and the price its going to be hard to not go back.

My favorite place to grab breakfast with friends in Oak Park! The staff super friendly! Raffy takes the best care of us ❤️ The other day I told her I'm on a high protein diet and she hooked me up with a protein stacked meal complete with sautéed spinach & sweetly arranged fruits on the side It was delicious!! I always leave with a happy belly! Thank you!!

Placed an order this morning. Normal order we have placed several times before. Start from the beginning. Ordered the Mexican Breakfast Burrito and hash browns, the hash browns were way undercooked, there were a couple small bits of avocado not even enough to make a single slice. And both our orders showed up cold. That was because they were late, oh and yes they advertise their own drivers, not true! When I called and asked about our late order, the woman said it was out and left also 15 mins ago. When I asked about the driver situation she said we use a group called Fetch. NOT their drivers according to her, sounds like false advertising to me! She was very curt and pretty much sounded as though she could not care less.Last time we order here, used to be a great place to eat.
