Always fantastic. Great beers, great staff, and above-average pub food.

Best fish and chips!

This is a place that I've gone without much expectation for years--it's bar food afterall. With that being said, I have left more than pleasantly surprised on nearly every occasion. Small breweries, IMO, typically miss the mark, but the beer at the Tied House is pretty solid. If you can't find something you like, they have guest breweries on tap, and a pretty extensive back bar. The atmosphere is casual and pretty minimal. It's fine. The food is where it's at. This place is definitely run by someone with a foodie pallet. Little details are important--they make their own pickled vegetables, smoke their own meats and fish, and have creative, thoughtful dishes. You can tell it's made by someone who cares. The food isn't cheap but it's not particularly expensive for Oak Park, but it's definitely the most upscale bar food around. And they easily have the best cheesesteak I've had for miles. This place won't blow you away, but it's been consistently good and I find myself remarking how much I like this place nearly every time I go. Places like that deserve a review, and I am glad to do it!

We visited Wild Onion Tied House on the recommendation of a local because we were looking for a brew pub with some atmosphere. We arrived on time for our reservation but were told we would have to wait “15-20” minutes. I asked the hostess if she would remember to get us in the bar, since she did not ask for our names. She said, “Oh, I'll remember you.” Exact quote. There were people seated at the bar but only one other table occupied in that section. The bartender took our order promptly and then we sat with our beers for 45 minutes. Finally I got up and went to the hostess desk. She was talking animatedly with a waitress. I asked if our table was ready. She gave me a blank look and then giggled. She had completely forgotten about us. Then we were taken to the dining room. It was nearly empty! Our waiter was just fine and the fish and chips were delicious, as was the burger and another fish dinner. No problem with the food and the ambience in the place is just what we were looking for. I guess it was pretty much the worst, most careless and unapologetic service I've experienced in many years.

Great selection of craft beer. Ordered the Caesar salad with shrimp and it was very tasty.

Just our go-to bar and gastropub, if you’ll forgive the phrase. Great food. Great beer. Great staff.

Two years later and still love coming here every now and then for a quick bite or a quick date night. Still can do nothing but rave about the customer service. Have had Brynn (sp?) as a waiter on more than one occasion, months and months apart and he always remembers us! Such a personal and friendly touch. LOVE the fried pickles. They have a lot of house dipping sauces too which are really good. They are well known for their beer selection. really good IPAs as well. They've had live music on different occasions and always cute lighting. Just have nothing but good things to say. Employees wear masks and everything is a good distance away from eachother.

This was my first visit to the Wild Onion. They do offer inside and outside seating. My boyfriend and I met her family for a get together for a nice meal and chatting on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was clean, staff was inviting and attentive, food and drink menu has something for everyone, prices are about right for this type of place, overall we enjoyed our visit and will be back again.

The service was great, the food was tasty, and the cocktails were very good. The watermelon seltzer was excellent, and my date liked the old fashioned a lot. The sangria was just ok. We had the veggie burger with a real bun (not gluten free) and the Ruben, both were very good. I'd go back.

Really easy to give this restaurant 5 stars ... i've been here a couple of times and have not been disappointed. The food is absolutely and extraordinarily super good... from the appetizers to the salad to the main dishes, dessert, and the beer, every single bite is absolutely delicious. This is a must try restaurant!!

This place has elevated their game since first opening. The food is delicious. I order the pastrami Sammy and it never disappoints. The whole family is happy coming here. Downside. It is on the pricier side. 16 dollars for a sandwich is steep. Will happily be returning again!
