“Very fun location, food is a bit higher priced but it's definitely worth it. The staff was very friendly and although it took a bit to get our check, do to how busy it was, my husband and I both really enjoyed ourselves and would love to bring other people here.“
“Spectacular eatery! It was everything I hoped for and more! Have followed this place on Facebook for a while now and finally got the chance to try it! Right off the bat we had to park in the back, and there were like 10 people ahead of us in line so I KNEW it was going to be great! It's a tiny little place, maybe 10 tables at the most, and the decor is a little dated which is just what I want in a hometown mom and pop shop. It being so small also guarantees that you're surrounded by amazing smells that are sure to make your mouth water! It also means that the food and service is so good they haven't had to try to spruce up the place to attract business! After maybe a 10 minute wait to order it was finally our turn. I believe it was Lilly taking our order, and the only other employee I saw was, I assume, her husband preparing all the food. Some people would find something wrong with this; the owners doing all the work. But personally I feel it guarantees authentic hospitality and a high quality meal every time! Another 10 or so minute wait and it was our turn to get our order. I opened the bag and gently spread out our meal on the table. The cabbage roll was reminiscent of my German grandmother's, although slightly sweeter. The spinach pie wasn't as big as I would have hoped, but the amazing flavor made up for it! The fried mushrooms were nothing short of amazing. And, above all, the gyro had SUCH an amazing flavor and consistency! None of that thinly sliced pre-packaged crap I've gotten at other places. Thick, juicy hunks of meat topped with fresh veg and smothered in "Lilly's Sauce", all wrapped in a soft, warm pita. Folks, it just doesn't get much better than this.I had every intention of ordering a falafel and baklava, but we barely finished what we had ordered, so it simply means I HAVE to go back as soon as I'm in the area! Overall this place gets a 9.5/10, with the only thing lacking as far as I'm concerned being that you must walk around the outside to reach the bathrooms. No big deal, and definitely doesn't effect the food one bit!Folks, this is one place you don't wanna miss..!“
“Not a sit down restaurant, must order at the counter and they deliver to your table. I was cold sitting on uncomfortable metal chairs. Those were the reasons for lower stars. The food on the other hand was amazing! Best BBQ nachos I've ever had. The home style greenbeans were very good. We also had pork tacos and BBQ pork sandwich. They do not have a variety of sauces but don't need them, their BBQ sauce is perfect just the way it is.“
“This eatery was referred to me by a friend. I was really hungry so we went there to get something good to eat. I tried the gyro combination plate. It was ok, there was nothing special about it. The sauce on the gyro didn't have any taste. The fries were pretty good. I was told by the attendant that this was one of their best items on the menu. I've had several gyros before and this one was not in the top 3.“
“This little gem is by far the best breakfast you can get in Southern Illinois. It's the only place my 5 and 2 year old will eat consistently and I don't order kids stuff. They are eating 5 or 6 veggies in their meals from here and that is just beautiful. After years of being loyal to places like The Egg and I and First Watch, this little place does what they do, except better tasting, actual seasonings on the food and dang near half the price. From price, to friendliness, to taste, this is my go to Breakfast place. For the same price as a McDonalds meal, you can get a full breakfast every doctor and nutritionist would approve of.Signed,A Very Happy Nutrition CoachKid-friendliness: My kids love the skillet. 5 and 2 years old and they can almost finish the skillet. I usually go for the garden style items and add meat to it and those 2 little dudes will destroy it.“
“Excellent all around. No matter how busy they sit you rather quickly. The waitresses are always friendly and seem genuinely happy to see you.Their breakfast is second to none. It is served within minutes of ordering. Everything is perfectly cooked and generous portions. Trust me, check this place out and see for yourself why I say this is clearly the best family restaurant in the area.“
“Great pizza and food in general. Usually crowded, and somewhat noisy, but it is a bar for congregation, so as expected. Wait staff are usually attentive, but van get overwhelmed by flash crowds. Keep that in mind if service gets a little slow. Great place that is still reasonably priced.Parking: There is a free municipal lot behind, street parking, and a small private lot between buildings.Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome, and are regularly there until about 8pm.“
“Hostess needed better customer service training. Was told to sit anywhere, but when we selected a table said we couldn't sit there as it was a table for 5. So we sat at another table. Later 2 people sat at that table. Food was ok. Table service was good. Moderately priced.Parking: Plenty of parking.“
“Great small town atmosphere, friendly staff, you could tell there are a lot of “regulars” here. We got the fried pickles to start, lots of breading but good. We order the Korean pork sandwich and buffalo chicken wrap. I thought the pork was a pulled pork sandwich, but it was more like a McRib patty - still delicious! The buffalo chicken wrap was amazing though! We will be back!“
