We went for a birthday dinner on Saturday late afternoon. Everything was busy and we understood we needed to wait. They said our wait time was 25 mins. We were fine with that. But as we watched people come in and get seated immediately my 6 yr old grandson even said "Why are they getting seated and not us?" As we reached an hour of wait time my 2-year-old granddaughter was getting very antsy. BUT we thought it'd be soon. A guy who came in AFTER us complained that they also had been there an hour. The host looked and told him they had a table clearing in the back, it was half high chairs and the other part lower. BUT when they went to seat them FIRST and BEFORE us who had been waiting longer... they sat them at a table right by the door that we all thought we were getting. The reason we thought that was because the 2 hosts were talking and we heard them but for whatever reason they changed their minds. I am disabled and can't sit in the high chairs which is why we thought that's where they were going to sit us. As soon as that happened my daughter saw that and was PISSED, to say the least, and was like "We're leaving, we'll go somewhere else". So, we did and had our birthday WAY later than we wanted. Sadly, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and my family won't be returning to this establishment.

Really enjoyed Sybergs. We aren't from that area so found it on Google. The hamburger was great. My son had the pizza and said it was really good if you like St. Louis style.

We were two couples who had a late lunch at Syberg's. We are all ex-military so we did more catching up then eating. At 2 PM the restaurant was nearly empty, which surprised us. Our server, Tony, was great! He remained available even though we were focused on talking. My husband and I ordered the fish and chips. The fish is heavily breaded but the fish was cooked well. The fries are like slices rather then the typical long, thin pieces. They were nice and crispy. Our one friend ordered a salad --huge with lots (and lots) of lettuce. He was underwhelmed. His wife ordered a daily special. I didn't hear any review either way. Would we go again? Probably not. There was nothing inherently wrong with Syberg's other than their online menu was woefully out of date. There are just too many other exciting places to go in the Fairview Heights/O'Fallon area.
