Lack of items available and not so fresh vegetables or fruit. Never get a full list of items I go after because they are always out of well just about everything but their ads and app on Instacart claims they have it.

Kroger is good but the “bakery” is mid at best.

While visiting Starved Rock, we had to stop in here multiple times. We were able to find almost everything we wanted and service was really friendly. It's not the hugest or most well stocked store I've been to, but it had the basics and came in clutch where we needed it.Major thank you to the employee who let us in right before store closing to buy some basic first aid items to tend to an injury - very appreciated!

I prefer this store over the one on the other side of town, cleaner, employees are more helpful and actually around to ask a question

we called and requested for 8 thighs of fried chicken, was promised it would take 30 minutes. got there (south side Kroger) and it wasn't ready, not even being cooked. then these 2 workers comes up and says they refuse to sell us anything and if we (well my husband) don't get out they'll call the cops for trespassing. the staff is rude, inconsiderate, disrespectful, etc. I am a diabetic. the south side doesn't like cooking. why promise a time if it's not going to happen or be done. we will call corporate in the morning.

I have been to the local Streator Illinois Kroger store about six times since the covid-19 has hit and each time I could not wait to get out of that store. The entry to store is absolutely filthy, the carts are dirty and almost never is there any sanitizing wipes or cleaner available to wipe them off. The whole store is antiquated and dismal and has an air of filth and neglect to the cleaning and disinfecting that should take place. I like to buy locally and support local business but this store seems to just abuse the customers. Walmart next door is cleaner. I have no idea if this problem exists company wide but it sure rears its ugly head in the Streator store. I am going to try to avoid going in there as much as possible in the future, but they are the only game in town for a stand along big chain grocer. I do think the store could be cleaned up somewhat but it would take a complete remodel and staff retraining to solve the problem. Hopefully they get some competition or corporate gets the message and takes care of the dirty and filthy conditions that exist there now. Very depressing place to shop.

I will never go to the southside kroger again. I have never been so embarrassed by the employees who worked there . I asked to use coupons from the card department And was told I could use as many as I wanted after checking out well over a $100 worth of groceries the snippy clerk told me that I could not use for coupons So I asked to have a manager or supervisor to speak to and they would not budge so I left my cart of groceries well over a $100 in the aisle I will never be embarrassed again by them.

I was at the Southside Ottawa Kroger getting ready to check myself out when an employee named Alice approached me and said, "You must wear your mask over your mouth and nose." I started to explain that I have asthma and she interrupted me saying, " I don't care. You are endangering my customers!" I swear, there wasn't anyone around except us and I don't know who she thought I was if not a customer. This woman is always rude but this was the last straw. I will shop anywhere else but there. There is a better way to treat your customers.

While this is an older version of a Kroger store (Kroger took over when the previous tenant [Eagle grocery store] closed down) and has relatively few of the "Superstore" features of Kroger's newest locations, it is happily missing the impersonal coldness of many newer stores of any grocery chain. The McKinley Road Kroger is a warm, friendly place: Enthusiastic greetings from the checklane operators and service personnel, baggers, and even stock-clerks as you shop the aisles. Always willing to lend a hand, they will often interrupt what they are doing to walk you to whatever items you cannot find. The produce, meat, and deli departments are uniformly well-stocked and tended by conscientious people. Despite it's smaller footprint relative to Kroger's more recent iterations, it is the friendliest, most pleasant place to shop. Highly recommended!

I do Love Kroger! Spectacular Sales and more...

Kroger is the best grocery store in Ottawa. They have sales that are almost always going on and the prices are almost always better than what you would get at Walmart. The service is always exceptional and the workers are always helpful and happy to help. The butcher is great and the bakery is amazing. I will only drive to Walmart if I have to. This Kroger will have my business forever!
