NWB has been our go to place… until recently. No idea what has changed here but it’s no longer an adult atmosphere. Friday night and the place is packed with more toddlers than Chuckie Cheese! No kidding, the place was packed wall to wall with parents & very young kids. Why parents feel this is an appropriate venue on a weekend evening to bring masses of kids in high chairs is beyond me. But obviously NWB has done something to curate this crowd. We will no longer go back. It was uncomfortable as an adult to try to relax around everyone else’s children. That’s exactly what I was trying to get away from. Went to Mauve in Shorewood. Was much better atmosphere.

Our server Tim, was extremely pushy and rude!! We were with a young kid (5) and asked for things on the side and he made it seemed as if the were extremely difficult for him.... mind you ive worked for a resturant in my past for 10 years so im well aware while its not convient it definitely can be done! If we didn't know immediately or were debating what we wanted he'd walk away and say he'll be back even if the other half or our party wanted something. When specific requests were needed he would make snark remarks like when I asked for a different bun (I'm pregnant and have gestational diabetes- diabetes caused by pregnancy) I joked the baby has given me diabetes and I have to be careful and he said "oh thats why you have it huh?" as if there was another reason to blame for it! Which was extremely offensive!!! I got the side salad with my burger and it came with cheese and if you're pregnant you're not suppose to have goat or feta cheese and some kind of cheese came on the side salad and regardless ate it because I wasn't about to "bother" Tim as that is exactly how he made it seem! So now Im currently not feeling good and praying its not listeria because of my fear to ask for a salad with no cheese! I've been to NWB in plainfield and lisle and never have had such experience before... I know being a server is no simple task but to make someone who is so forgiving of this industry I just couldn't understand why he took this job if anything we asked was so difficult!

Food is wonderful, service is friendly but the ambiance is similar to a distopian shipwreck. The music is loud and all the colors of the room are neutrals of the ocean. Drinks are categorized in a fairly easy to read format but the categories are very varied and would be better if categorized by flavor. The drinks are also meh.

Next Whiskey Bar has a very welcoming, casual/cozy atmosphere from the moment you walk in. It can at times be more crowded than I am comfortable in. That said, it's worth a wait. Service here is nothing less than outstanding and very knowledgeable about their menu items. NWB has a great whiskey selection in addition to a well-stocked, everyday bourbon selection. Parking can be challenging depending on when you are in the area. Lunch time is usually not too bad, and a great place to stop and get some good food.Parking: Availability is completely dependent on when you are in this area. Typically weekends and rush hour are a challenge. During weekday afternoons there is no trouble finding close parking.

This is one of our favorite spots in Plainfield. My wife and i love the Saribachi burger and the Bacon wrapped shrimp. We also love the parmesan fries. We dont like the pork belly offered in many of their dishes but its up to you to decide. Its really known for their whiskey doughnuts Its a cozy atmosphere specially in the outdoor patio in the summer. Plenty of tvs. They always change their whisky mixed drink menu and the drinks are always delicious. Its not exactly cheap but nothing is now a days.Parking: Big parking lot as well as street parking.
