The food and service are excellent. Have enjoyed my experiences and am planning to go again soon!

Where to begin, I was in Rockford visiting family being from Chicago I wanted to have a nice quality dinner like I can get in the city. I really had high hopes because the menu and website looked great. Arriving at the restaurant with my party we were ignored by three separate employees until ten minutes later when a seemingly bored hostess finally took us to our table, with barely saying anything. After being seated we looked over the menu and talked while we waited for what was probably 8 minutes without having a server come over. Finally a server arrived with water but no glasses and when we got glasses my friends glass was chipped, the server removed the glass and got another. The server was young and sweet but seemed to be very new to serving. We ordered some appetizers Parker house rolls and “house chips & crack” which were okay. Next, we waited for about 25 minutes before our entree order was taken. My friend with the chipped glass ordered steak frites while his wife ordered her favorite filet mignon, medium temp. The server informs us that the steak frites will be cooked to “chef choice temp” which first of all as a chef of 15 years myself, I have never heard of. While informing my friend of the chefs choice temp briefly says “so it will be medium rare, medium.” In which my friend replies with “perfect, med rare/medium is great.”After about 10-15 minutes our entrees came to the table which was less time than the appetizers. When receiving our dishes my friend with the steak frites is handed a plate with a burnt end of flank steak cooked to well done laying on top of frozen French fries. My friend was upset and kindly asked the server to remove the meal for the bill, but was told only $10 discount would suffice because he ate two bites of his overcooked steak and that’s all. We were shocked. I really wanted to take my friends out to a nice dinner and sadly we were very disappointed. Portions for dishes were insanely large in a bad way, flavor profiles way off, and if you can’t cook a steak to temp you shouldn’t be working in a restaurant with a steak special on Saturdays. Won’t be coming back. Sad that there are very few good restaurants in and around Rockford.

My friends and I ate in the igloos and had a great experience. Our server, Kyle, went above and beyond throughout the night. He offered great suggestions for drinks and entrees, was very personable, and attentive. Highly recommend!

Initially, we went to eat for restaurant week. We had the fettuccine that they make in the parmesan wheel, the pork hibachi, the crack dip, and my friend had an alfredo pasta. The pasta was fantastic, however the hibachi was not prepared correctly. I did reach out to the manager, Michelle, and she was fantastic and more than accommodating. We went back again, had the fettuccine and the parmesan wheel and the bolognese pasta. She also brought us the buffalo shrimp appetizer, we had wine, and a couple old fashions. Michelle waited on us personally and made sure that all of our wants and needs were met. I recommend Alchemy to anyone for a nice intimate dinner experience.

I prefer the spring/summer menu over the supper club style they are doing during the winter. The steak frites was pretty dry. The butter chicken is a safe option. But I'd be happy eating any of their pizza's year round. The Salad here is sorry for the price. Service can be hit or miss. Ambiance is still nice, especially the patio on a nice day.

Our group of seven had a reservation on a recent Friday night. Seated promptly with good service. However, when they switched to a supper club idea, I was looking forward to a supper club relish tray. It was ridiculous. It probably had five single pieces of vegetables, a tablespoon of cheese and wrapped crackers/ breadsticks for three of us. The menu says it's complimentary when you order an entrée. Very disappointing. They need to visit Iowa or Wisconsin to see how to do a relish tray. The diced chicken in my pasta dish was chopped so fine that it was difficult to pull it through the pasta to manage it. Lots of work on that meal. I'm not sure I'd visit again until summer when outdoor dining is open and they have a different menu.

Very nice New Years Eve dinner. Live music, great food, and a friendly staff. Nice tequila selection as well.

Truly, one of the best customer service experiences I've had in the Rockford region. My server's name slips my mind, but he was awesome!

We were looking for somewhere new to eat. We decided to try Alchemy boy were we impressed. Not only was the food fabulous but the service was outstanding! Never once did we have to ask for refills. We will definitely be returning. I can’t wait to eat in one of the outdoor bubbles this winter.

Food was excellent. Service horrible. I asked if they had Malibu Rum. Said they did. It was not Malibu. Staff were younger and more interested in sitting around talking. It wasn’t busy but yet my husband had to go up and ask for a refill. I was finally asked by the manager if I wanted refill, a little too late. Haven’t been here in a couple of years. Won’t be back.

Alchemy was one of my favorite spots to go - when it was in its original location. The food was great and the servers were always polite and helpful with selections and new selections. My husband and I spontaneously wanted to go out for a fancy dinner after work and decided to try the new location. As soon as we walk in the entire room was empty and it felt weird. The staff asked if we had a reservation and we did not. Again, the entire place was empty including the bar area. The receptionist disappeared to 'ask' about a table. Several minutes later she returned and sat us at a table right in the middle of the entry way - not by a window or off to the side. We asked for another table and she said no - again ALL tables were empty. We sat down and immediately the sun was in my husbands eyes so again we asked to move but she just closed the blinds. We did not receive service until several minutes later where we were given paper menus and no offers for water. Finally we decided to just get up and leave. I will never go back. So sad.
