Their pho is so good! They could use a little music or something for the ambiance but it's just a whole in the wall so I'm not judging! Service was good and they had really good chili oil

Food selection is somewhat limited, but really good. Service is excellent. It's in an old building and often open for take out only and I've not had a chance to dine in, yet.

The food was amazing! Every dish made me think of home and my mom's cooking! The flavors were on point and spiceness! Don't snooze on this restaurant.

Just moved to Rockford from Chicago. I grew up in Chinese restaurants and strive to improve/expand my own Asian food cooking skills and pallete. It's been hard finding any authentic tasting Asian food in Rockford, but this place pleasantly surprised me. Pro: -Beef Lad Nah: the wide noodles were the perfect texture, Chinese broccoli had a good crunch, and the sauce was rich with with beefy, savory, and slightly sweet flavor. -Pork Pad Krapow: The pork was well balanced and savory with the Thai basil, some spicy (I think there was some chilis in there), and whatever sauce was used to stir fry-Thai Iced tea. I've had Thai Iced tea in so many restaurants in Chicago and have attempted to make it myself. It takes a lot of work to steep all the herbs/spices to get such depth of flavor without it getting bitter. I think this was the Thai Iced Tea I've ever had. They also offer free refills! -The night I went, many other Asians ate and ordered here. This tells me this is more authentic! Con:-It's a short-staffed hole in the wall. From experience, I know these types of places can have some of the best tasting/authentic food. However, if you're looking for a wonderful sit down experience, this may not be the spot.

It was an incredible experience. After our soccer game we stopped in, both the staff and food were incredible! First the staff treated us very well and would crack friendly jokes. The service as well was A-1! The food was very tasty and will definitely be returning soon!

This is the closest you will ever get to west coast thai food in Rockford. It's not the same, but at least it's in the same ballpark. Most of the other Asian restaurants in the area are simply upsetting (except for Spider sushi andthst teriyaki place in the mall). If you really miss pad thai, pick up some pad thai sauce from valley produce and mix it in to Lao Kitchen's pan fried noodles. Their fried rice is also good, and ready for any flavor dressups you might want to add. They get really busy (because they're so good), so you may have to wait a while if you order when they're busy.
This place is really good compared to other Lao restaurants difference is this place serves traditional Lao food. It's family own and run. I live in Chicago and I don't mind it at all to drive up there just to eat. I would recommend this establishment to all my friends. My favorite dish there is Nam Khao and the sausages are the best around. The chicken wings is by far better than any Fried Chicken place around. I look forward in going there to eat and chat with the owner. Give this place a try if you're looking to try the Real Flavors of Laos.

Rough part of town but what an awesome Laotian place!! Recommend the spicy seafood soup with noodles and iced tea.

Best authentic Lao food in town with reasonable prices. I had the papaya salad with sticky rice and fried chicken and my friend got the chicken larb with crab rangoons. Everything was delicious and you get to choose the spice level. The thai iced tea was also very good… and comes with free refills ?Most importantly, the owner is very friendly and genuinely cares about his customers. Will definitely be back!!

We've been wanting to try them out for months now and finally got a chance! We ordered: Laotian Sausage, Pad See Ew, Laotian Noodles, and Egg Rolls! Loved it all! The egg roll sauce really complemented the crisp egg rolls and the noodle dishes were not that salty but sweet and succinctly flavorful! Definitely an underrated gem in Rockford! Try them when you get a chance, they have special "off-menu" items during the weekend!
