“My visit to Drop the Dop was truly memorable! From the moment I stepped in, the staff greeted me with warmth and hospitality, making me feel right at home. They went above and beyond to help me customize my bowl, ensuring that every ingredient was just right to create the perfect blend of flavors. The ambiance of the restaurant was strikingly modern, with sleek decor that exuded a contemporary charm. The addition of lush green plants scattered throughout the space added a welcoming and inviting atmosphere, making it a delightful place to dine. Now, let's talk about the food – it was simply outstanding! Each ingredient looked impeccably fresh and vibrant, and the presentation was so enticing that it sparked my appetite instantly. And let's not forget about the delightful addition of a small bowl of miso soup, which perfectly complemented the meal.Despite the high quality and deliciousness of the food, I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of the meal. With the total cost coming to around $12, it was not only a satisfying experience but also a great value for money. As if that wasn't enough, I was thrilled to receive a reward card that offered me a free meal after collecting 10 stamps. It's gestures like these that truly demonstrate Drop the Dop's commitment to customer satisfaction and loyalty. In summary, my time at Drop the Dop was nothing short of exceptional. From the friendly staff to the modern ambiance, delectable food, and enticing rewards program, it's safe to say that I'll be returning again and again for more culinary delights!Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free option.“
“My friends and I went a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered kimbap, tteokbokki, and spicy ramen and everything was absolutely delicious. The server and owner were so kind and attentive. We are planning to visit again. Give this place a try!“
“I wanted to circle back and leave a review because they have been one of my favorites for authentic Korean cuisine in the area. When I lived closer, I would order from them all the time and it was so fresh, so consistent, and so delicious every single time. It was a quick comfort food to me, and I rave about them to anyone that will listen. I never got to dine in with them, but if delivery was that good, dining in must be divine. If you ever get an opportunity to eat here, take it!For other foodies, the comfort in their food is very inspirational. When I eat it, it makes me want to learn how to make every dish. Check them out!“
“So this place is an amazing "Pocha" experience! Great social drinking vibe with amazing food. Note that the wait can be 40mins+ and it can get very packed. Now although you might wait a bit, which should give you enough time to have an order in mine, the food comes out super fast once placed. Probably took only 10mins for the food to start coming out.Highly highly recommend the Tofu Kimchi (which comes with pork belly), Spicy BBQ pork belly w/mozzarella, and the Rose Tteok bok ki.Definitely what we were looking for and they also have karaoke which we might come back to try.“
“I absolutely love this place! I can be here 2 times a week. The staff is amazing, and super friendly! They make their food with LOVE. Everything is so fresh and taste amazing. And the fruit teas are such a thirst quencher!! Recommended to everyone if they love good “
“We've been wanting to try this spot for a while & are glad that we did. We came in on a Saturday evening a few hours before closing. There was only 1 other party so we didn't know if that was good or bad. It was good because we didn't have to wait long & the food tasted incredible. It's self order on a touch screen menu, once you're # is called, you pick up your tray from the counter. Food is served on a cast iron plate to keep it warm. They have filtered water options with re-usable cups for those that prefer opting out of the water bottle option. Excellent Korean BBQ bulgogi style ( thin marinated meat cooked on a grill or griddle). The owners are very friendly and ask if you want it spicy or not, also offering sauce on the side. Soy sauce is also available upon request. The portions are perfect and the price is reasonable. If you want to be stuffed one plate is enough. I like to take some home for another meal. ($13-$15 per person) not including drinks. They also have fresh sushi which is a little bit pricier than the bulgogi, imo. I'd rather eat the Bulgogi since they have knocked this one out of the park. Great location with clean bathrooms, & friendly owners. Looking forward to the warm weather so we can take a walk around the lake afterwards.“
“Always a good time when I come here. This time I came for a double date with my family and my bf (cute, I know!) for Valentine's Day. This is my third time coming here with my bf so we were accustomed to calling in our reservation which we made a couple of weeks in advance. As soon as we came in, you are instantaneously hit with the yummy aroma of cooked meats and veggies. It's honest to God, a scent that is drool worthy. We ordered up the Chungkiwa special which is a lovely mixture of meats and seafoods. We got our ban chan and our kimchi fried rice. As usual, the customer service was prime as the sweet, young lady was our sever. She was so quick, attentive and kind. We never felt like we were a burden to her as this restaurant was pretty busy tonight. All in all, this place is amazing. The main reason my bf and I treated my family here was for them to get a slice of Korean bbq heaven and what better time then for Valentine's Day?!? They thoroughly enjoyed the food and the customer service. The food was plentiful and tasty. You can tell that the quality of meat is good and not only that, we absolutely love the cast iron grill everything is cooked on. It helps to ensure that everything is cool evenly and it cooks the meat fast which is much appreciated. This place has an old school charm to it which I really enjoy. The meal ended with a Haagen Dazs bar which was super yummy! Overall, I've said it before and I'll say it again; this place is awesome! When in doubt, try this place out and I can promise you won't regret it“
“Best experience with food, service, and catching up with your loved ones (friends/family) and wasn't rushed to be kicked out. I think theres a timer, but like I said, they let us enjoy our atmosphere and keep bringing the food without us saying. Great service team, they were all on it as if they were our older relative who we hadn't seen in years and kept us happy by bringing dish after dish. I'm definitely coming back more often now that I discovered this spot. I wish I had known this place.“
“I was hesitant to start writing, since I wanted to keep the place all to myself! But this would not be fair, so here goes my review. First, consider my vocabulary of superlatives to be already exhausted by previous reviewers. Second, these are the facts: we ate there twice in one week: we had a dinner and then immediately scheduled an omakase. Both time it was a life-changing experience. I kid you not! The sushi dinner was probably the best I ever had this side of the Pacific and this deep inland. In a 'regular' sushi place all sushis taste, well, like the defrosted raw fish with soy sauce. Not chef's Jino's! Each piece was different, complex, and exciting. The omakase performance was on par with a multi-Michelin-star restaurant I've ever been to with the difference being the absence of the usual hits or misses - hits only, be it a souffle, or sashimi, or filet. The host and waiter Danny was helpful and knowledgeable. And the place itself was pretty close to my ideal of a modern upscale restaurant - sleek, contemporary, and yet cosy. To the detriment of my convenience, I can only wish the place to have a month-long waiting list soon enough!“
“The best Korean restaurant in America I work as a driver and I drove all over America and ate in different Korean restaurants, this restaurant is the most ideal the best Korean restaurant, delicious food, super service. I recommend everyone to come and eat here. You had a very good time here. I will give this restaurant a thousand stars. Super, super, super!!! ?“
“Ordered off grub hub, I’ve always wanted to try Korean tofu stew but have been worried I couldn’t handle the spice, they let you pick the level and have a super mild offering so ordered it and wow!! This was amazing!! It was still rather spicy (I got the kimchi tofu option with pork) but was manageable for a wimp like me and so so so rich and flavorful. I kept eating it long after I was full because it was so good!!! Will be coming back absolutely (also the marinated cucumbers that came on the side were delightful)“
“BEST Korean bbq spot I’ve ever had!! We come here specifically for the Tikku Chicken & the boba tea! Kid friendly place, my son loves the fries & pororo juice. The service is always great & the atmosphere welcoming! I recommend to all family and friends.“
“So happy finding this place. We had the kimchi sujebi and seolleongtang this visit. Both were very well prepared and hit the spot. The restaurant was busy when we visited and the service was great. Small but homey. We live in the city but will make the trip back soon.“
“CM CHICKENHOLY MOLY THESE WINGS WERE ? We got hot bbq and spicy soy garlic and lowkey made a mistake getting two spicy flavors but they were so good definitely coming back here for the deals and to try the other flavors. Staff was nice and place was roomy. Also got the bulgogi fried rice and a side of fries but wish it came with more fries since the sides are around 7$ but the wings are so crispy and fresh. overall tho4.5/10“
“Ordered Seafood Soontofu for take out. Pick-up was simple and easy, brought it back to the hotel and had my dinner.I appreciated that they give you four banchans - picked radish, fish cake, napa kimchi and cucumber kimchi. While I liked all the banchans, my favorite was the cucumber as it was perfectly seasoned, sour and sweet, hit the spot.As for the soontofu - the dish was seasoned well, had a kick to it, even though I asked for "regular" on the spicy level.... however, I was disappointed in the amount of "seafood" they provided.... it had 3 shrimps and 3 clams... no squid or other types of seafoods and definitely lots of tofu.Overall, the soon tofu hit the spot on this chilly rainy day. Definitely will be back to try other flavors of the soon tofu.“
“Great Korean owned establishment. Clean, absolutely great menu, kind service and friendly! We ordered, stir-fried squid and soft tofu soup. Very delicious and I will be back.Plenty of seating and parking!Vegetarian options: All of the non meat options“
“Definitely the best Korean barbecue grill I’ve ever tried! I would recommend to everyone looking for good quality meat, friendly and accommodating staff, and unlimited side dishes! We have been coming here with family, friends, and coworkers and always a good time. We love this place and the staff who are always helpful and make sure our dinner is great! Super delicious food and worth it!“
“Have been coming here for years and have had nothing but an incredible experience every single time without fail. Our server is always attentive and kind no matter when we've come in. We had John as a server this evening and he was phenomenal!“
“Wow. I ordered delivery from ChowNow and the food came piping hot. I am in awe with how delicious the bulgogi and the chicken buns were. They even gave me sides with it that I didn’t expect! The crispy broccoli was consumed in .5 seconds and I cannot wait to eat in person here. I am obsessed and can’t wait to try it again!“
“I'm was surprised to find a Korean-style chicken place around here but so so happy. They expanded their menu too and if you haven't had CupBop yet, give it a shot! It's got a little of everything. Of course, if you come in and get their fried chicken every time, I think you'll be very happy all the same. And my girlfriend says that me introducing her to Korean Corndogs changed her life.“
“This might be our go to now for seolluntang and galbitang! The flavors are light and you can season to taste with the salt on the table. The seolluntang was delightful, perfectly balanced and flavorful. It’s pretty big inside, at least much bigger than it looks on the outside. I would guess there are maybe 10 tables? We came around 11:10 and were the only people inside, but within 30 min the restaurant started to fill up! I can see parking getting tight though there’s parking around the back too where the laundromat is. If you ever get desperate, you can also park at the Hmart next door and walk over.Kid-friendliness: Open space insideWheelchair accessibility: The entire restaurant is flat and wheelchair can be pushed right to the table“
“During many of my reviews, I left my camera bag on the restaurant floor because I didn't want to disrupt their business by pulling up a chair for another table. However, the server here gave me an extra chair and took care of my camera bag. I've never experienced such hospitality in a restaurant before. And when I needed something, all I had to do was raise my hand, and the server would come over to me. -Seafood Jjampong Stew: It was really good. However, I wish they had more seafood. -Oden Soup: it was on the house. Even my daughter, a picky eater, said it was excellent. My personal opinion is that the service was top notch and the flavors were good enough to give this place a 5 star review. If you're a fan of Korean food, this is a must-visit on your next trip to Chicago.“
“I’m glad that they decided to extend their hours. They used to close before 5 pm and that was vexing. We came here for a late lunch. If you got a 30 min or hour lunch break, then this place is great for that. Service was fine. Food was good. We got a variety. Some of the ingredients are no longer on the current menu fyi. Prices are reasonable. There is parking but they share it with other places next door.-pork cutlet tong bop 5/5 - this one is my favorite. It’s like a burrito and that crunch was perfect.-bulgogi kimbop 5/5-fried chicken kbop 5/5“
“My wife an I went here today for lunch. Very pleasant, cozy space and peaceful...no loud music. We had a beef teriyaki rice bowl and a lunch special bento box with tempura. All great. The service was prompt and friendly. We'll go back.“
“I have tried a few things here but my go to is the Dolsot Bibimbap, always great and satisfying. The side dishes are always to my liking, they vary from visit to visit, and that is ok with me. Prices have come up but are reasonable. I am often the only or one of the few customers who does not speak Korean there. It is not a fancy restaurant so prepare your expectations for a more relaxed, casual, almost street food style, dining experience.“
“I really like this restaurant. I don't know why because I can't particularly say the food is the best Korean food or that they have the best service or anything but something about it is just really nice if you want a humble Korean meal. The price is pretty reasonable for the food you're getting and there has never been anything I didn't like. The service is just okay. It's typical Korean service, sometime they're nice, sometimes they're not. But they were really understanding when we went with a bunch of babies that were loud and messy. My go to dish is the soojaebi, which I don't like paying for since I make a really good version at home very easily, but I feel like something about this place is just worth it. Definitely a place worth checking out if you like Korean food but don't like making it yourself.“
“I love this place so much. The lady who runs the place is super nice and prices are very reasonable. Compared to some of the other waits for restaurants at Mitsuwa Mama House is one of the quickest to get food from. There is almost always no line and you can get your food within 5 minutes. I normally get the Beef Bulgogi and it is always flavorful and a big portion. I definitely recommend if you are looking to come to Mitsuwa to grab a relatively cheap and quick bite.“
“This place has delicious food. The workers are all incredibly pleasant and make sure your experience is top tier. I've come here on multiple occasions with my friend and we both can agree the food and service have been amazing every single time.“
“This is the best kbbq restaurant in Chicagomy experience was the bestThe side dishes are so deliciousRaw ribs and seasoned ribs are also very delicious. You will never regret itThe taste of ribs grilled with chamsut is the best.Highly recommended100 star“
“The server made quite a few mistakes on our order and it wasn't handled very well. I was very annoyed but the owner of the restaurant did everything to help and even gave us a coupon for next time, as a means of apology. I appreciate the owner's willingness to help and chicken and wings are tasty as always. Thank you.“
“This place was so good it was a little pricey but I understand why. The food and service was very good and it seemed very clean in there. I didn't expect for the ramen one to be so good but it was the best. Even the next day I heated it up in the microwave and it still tasted amazing.“
“A nice hole in the wall Korean restaurant. It's surprisingly very spacious inside and very homey. It's close to my place but first time checking it out! I ordered the gamja tang which is a soup made made with pork back bone and vegetables. It was tasty. Lots of big chunks of meat. My dad ordered the kal gooksoo, noodle soup with clams and vegetables. My brother ordered the sul lung tang, beef bone broth with thin slice beef, noodles, and green onions. I got to try a bit of their orders and everything was tasty. The 6 side dishes they bring out are also tasty. We naturally spoke to the server in Korean. She was very attentive and sweet. Prices are reasonable. It's nothing mind blowing but a place I'd recommend if you want some simple yet solid Korean food.“
“When we walked in, I sensed good energy right away! We ordered so much food (Combo B, Steamed Egg, etc) and it was all beyond delicious. For so much food, the price was really good, especially with quality meat! To my surprise, our waitress, makes all the food here and it’s family-owned and operated. A complete 10/10, a great spot to come hangout with family, friends, and loved ones for a quality meal and a fun but serene atmosphere! Everyone was so lovely and between the food and the people it was so comforting! “
“Searching for an authentic Mongolian restaurant in Illinois felt like uncovering a rare treasure, and we hit the jackpot with this place! The staff was incredibly friendly, creating a warm atmosphere, and the food was beyond delicious. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the bento box—a perfect blend of flavors. If you crave genuine Mongolian cuisine, this is the place to be! Highly recommend it for a delightful dining experience.“
“New galbi house in the suburbs! Super excited to have a high quality Korean bbq restaurant so close to home. Yes the service was great. But what I really want to talk about is the quality of food. From the raw beef appetizer (yukhae) to the galbi ribeye. Just look at that marbling in my photos. Such high quality of beef here. You're definitely paying for quality food here. Everything was seasoned well and absolutely delicious! We also got the seafood pahjun appetizer, the spicy fish dish with radish (galchi jorim) (not pictured), and the cold noodle bowl (nangmyun). I will say although we came here for the bbq I was absolutely blown away by the spicy fish dish (galchi jorim). I wish I got a picture of it. It's a huge portion to share with multiple people. Super flavorful and the fish was just juicy and tender. It was so good. I definitely plan to come back just to order this again. From start to finish the service was amazing. There is a call button at the table that you can press if there's anything you need. A server will be at your table right away. For our party of 6 adults and 2 toddlers, tip was already included in our bill at the end of the meal. The server did mention this when handing us the bill. I appreciated that they let us know. I truly enjoyed every dish we ordered and so glad to have this new restaurant in the suburbs. We'll definitely be back!!“
“Hidden gem, friendly and cozy place. Fish cakes were offered once we seated. Foods were nice and hot when they bring them to our table. Crispy hot Dumplings, seafood noodles soup was our little one’s favorite, The noodles are perfectly cooked mild broth, but flavorful. Generous portion of pork Katsu with thick flavorful dipping sauce, Loved the salad comes along with the dish. According to my husband that was one of the best kimchi fried rice he had in a while. The place gets busy quickly. The music was a little loud. But we can’t wait to return .“

“It's the BEST CHICKEN RESTAURANT in the area. It may take some time to cook right after ordering, but it's really nice to have CRISPY and FRESH chicken. I like golden original chicken and secret sauce, which is traditional Korean taste and honey garlic sauce, Gangjeong.. Actually I like like everything ??Tteokbokki is the same taste that I ate in Korea! Inside, you can bring your own bottle and eat it with chicken. I have to buy chicken for my son every week, but I enjoy this!(As soon as I arrived home, I ate chicken so absorbedly that there were not many pieces left in the picture. But it's very delicious! )“
“The spicy salad with salmon and tuna was great. The lettuce was very fresh and you could add as much spicy sauce on the side as you wanted. We would definitely go back to eat there instead of Mitsua where there was no seating on a Saturday.“
“We stopped in for lunch after being at the convention center. My wife had the Bulgogi wrap and I had the Soy Chicken Bibimbap with a side of kimchi. Both dishes we had were quite tasty and satisfying. We’d stop again if we ever pass through the area again. Service was good.“
“Nice place with simple menu. Most customers knew what they order, maybe are repeated customers. The side dishes were nice but less choices compare to other Korean BBQ place. Taste of food was good enough, and we have plenty to eat yet we ordered seconds. Price is on the heavy side. We will return there again soon.“
“I love this place+ the moment I heard Galbijjim was on the menu! You know how hard and rare it is to find this delicious dish? Everyone needs to try it at least one..level 2 spice was perfect! The beef intestine was really fine taste! Very clean and satisfying! I will be back to try the other items on the menu!“
“I don't really like All You Can Eat, so I prefer places where you order individually, but this is the best barbecue I've ever been to.Six people ate raw meat, anchang, ribs, etc. There is no need to say anything about the quality of this house compared to the price. I think people who live in Chicago are happy people because they have a good barbecue restaurant.“
