Food isn't as good as the other locations.

First of, I love the customer service, the ladies were super nice and very helpful and was greatly appreciated. Now for the good, the bulgogi fries were so soggy and all the toppings were overloaded which I guess would have not been so bad if the fried were crispy but instead a big soggy mess and the taste just was not what I expected and the white radish has no flavor what so ever, it's over of my favorites and I was let down, I could have went to the Korean store and got a way better tasting radish for cheaper, no thanks, overall, disappointing and not worth the price

I'm finally done with this restaurant! So I tried this restaurant when it first opened. The chicken was very good but was undercooked(my mom commented on it). I thought it was new restaurant jitters and waited a few months later and had the same experience. So I stopped ordering from them for a few years. Recently I started working near this location and decided to try again. Same issue, the fried chicken even though it looked fully cooked, upset my stomach hours later. Almost gave up on the restaurant and saw that they had takoyaki which I love. No issues with that dish so I would order it every few months with their fries. However, last night I did my order of takoyaki and then had stomach issues later on in the night. It was the only thing that I had that day. After dealing with those issues all night, I finally decided to write a review and swear off this place. I want to like it and the menu seems good but idk whats happening with the food served here. Maybe I'm the odd one out that gets the bad chicken but I'm done gambling. I'm glad that this restaurant works out well for other people though, it just doesn't for me.

Had a craving for their spicy drumsticks, me and my mom live in Rockford and we made the hourlong drive costing us about $15 in gas and tolls for the round trip. My mom doesn't like dark meat, so she wanted boneless, and opted for KBBQ.After walking in and placing the order at the counter, we sat and waited. The gentleman was very nice at first. We got our food and checked it in the car. Something was obviously off. We weren't sure, but the boneless KBBQ was so spicy smelling that it flared both of our nostrils, while the spicy drumsticks didn't at all look, smell, or taste as I was expecting. Every time I've gotten them, they're red and glossy, almost like a gummy worm. These were very matte and dark brown. We assumed maybe the sauces got mixed up, but neither of these were anything we'd ever had before (I'd had the spicy drumsticks 3 times to this point, and this was my mom's 2nd time having the KBBQ boneless). We immediately brought it back in.Assuming this was a mistake, we tried our hardest to be patient and charitable with the gentleman. He didn't seem very apologetic or concerned, he just immediately asked to see the chicken. Without hesitation he just went "oh no that's right. Those are correct."We really tried our hardest to explain, okay bro, we got it, you're saying these are correct. We're not mad, we're just saying that this isn't what we thought we were ordering. It didn't matter though. He just kept repeating "this is spicy, I saw them mix the spicy, it's spicy, this here is spicy, I don't know what else to tell you." He probably reiterated "this is spicy" about 12 times before we gave up.Not once did the gentleman ever once even consider trying to make things right with us, his only goal was to argue with us. Maybe the worst customer service we've ever gotten; what restaurant immediately jumps to arguing with customers and accusing them of lying? It's strange to me that someone on the clock would rather stand there and try to fight with people like an elementary school aged boy instead of just trying to make things right the way a normal, well-adjusted adult would. If the sauces we were served actually were correct, then it's clear BonChon Schaumburg has owners that like experimenting with new flavors and messing with sauce recipes without telling their customers, going so far as to argue with them instead. My recommendation is that if you find something you like here, don't be surprised if you no longer like it when you go back again in the future.(Edit: it turns out that BonChon Schaumburg has had dozens of complaints of sauces tasting different without warning. Some have said that employees have admitted to some customers that the sauce recipes do change sometimes. So I guess this wasn’t all in my head somehow.)This experience is exactly why so many smaller chains come in and out of the suburbs so often. Oftentimes, suburban outlet malls filled with chains are run by some of the greediest franchisees you'll ever meet. This just reeks exactly of that. Don't be surprised if this place is gone 2 years from now, just like 80% of all other smaller chains in the west suburbs; the type of greedy people to own a small franchise like this have no problem abandoning ship and laughing all the way to the bank at the smallest sign of losing money, with the employees who made them rich usually taking the brunt of it all. Best to just stay away from places like this, plenty of better local options for sure.

Went here with my boyfriend a few weeks back, definitely recommend fried rice and the Korean chicken wings!!Honestly think this place is more for young adults since they play more American r&b and pop music rather than Korean music.Tried their takoyaki and it was kinda hard, and the spicy wings were a bit dry, but overall good place to go with friends

I called to place 2 orders of boneless wings. The gentleman who answered the phone asked what size and told me the amount for each. I ordered 2 smalls plus 2 sides. They said 20 minutes. I arrived after 20 minutes but they said the system was down and couldn’t put in my order so it would be another 10 minutes. He also told me they were out of the Korean BBQ sauce. As I waited I was viewing the menu that was posted and noticed what I ordered came in a lunch special. The lunch special would have saved me almost $20. I asked them about and said I wished someone had told me about the lunch special, then the gentleman gave some excuse on why, something about 3 customers there at once. He told me he couldn’t change it now but will throw in a complimentary fry. Food was pretty good but I probably would not go back after that experience

The bulgogi fries were amazing! Chicken was cooked perfectly. I wish they had a bigger selection of sauces for wings. Overall a great experience. Will definitely be dining here again.

We stopped in for lunch after being at the convention center. My wife had the Bulgogi wrap and I had the Soy Chicken Bibimbap with a side of kimchi. Both dishes we had were quite tasty and satisfying. We’d stop again if we ever pass through the area again. Service was good.

Went to the Schaumburg location for dinner with the family. So disappointed in the food. The flavor of the soy garlic and spicy options were good. The issue is that the chicken itself were not crispy enough before the sauces were added. It was so soggy that you can taste the yellow fat in between the skin and the actual meat. We also ordered the tekboki because it's one of my favorites from Korean fast food places but was let down because the rice cakes were hard and the sauce was half of the amt it should be. It was so dry it looked like it was rice cakes, fish cakes and onions only lightly coated with the orange colored sauce. The takoyaki we ordered were also just served in a small side dish bowl that it looked so crammed and made in a rush. Maybe they ran out of clean plates but the presentation was just blah. I say that because previous visits had them served on a rectangular plate which makes more sense. The price point is also too expensive for the amt of food you get. For a family of 5, we spent over $165 with an 18% gratuity already included in the bill. I would have rather gone to Texas de Brazil for their lunch buffet for the same amt for 5 people. Still kicking myself right now ?

Food was great, our chicken came a little dry but we were told we could come back to get more sauce which wasn't the biggest inconvenience. Service was a highlight and i really felt appreciated :)

The food was good. However, service was almost absent. There was only one other customer in restaurant. Stood by door for several minutes (more than 5m) until the employee finally spoke to me, When I said I'd like to get lunch, he said, "Sit anywhere." After ordering and getting my food, he never returned to ask if I needed anything else or to refill my drink/water. When I was clearly done eating, he brought the check. I left a generous tip (more than 20%), but regret doing so - since he'll not know his lack of service made it unlikely I'll return.
