I went to Granite City twice in about a 2 week span. My first time being with my husband on date night. We went on a Friday the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately our waiter was either overwhelmed or maybe they were short staffed because he’d come by and then we wouldn’t see him for about 1/2 hour. I ended up ordering their chicken tenders and they were mediocre at best, their spiked strawberry lemonade was very good though. My 2nd time going my friend suggested it, I kept my mouth shut since I wasn’t sure if they had a different experience than me and this was on a Wednesday. Plus most places deserve a 2nd chance….well it was no different they seemed to be very confused at the host table, again maybe they were training new people or short staffed. My friend ordered their margarita and she ended up sending it back I however being a creature of habit ordered their spiked strawberry lemonade again which was good. We ordered their chicken wings as an app and they were nothing special again the wait for wings was about 1/2 hour and another 20 minutes for our waitress to return to take our actual order where again we waited for what seemed to be close to 45 minutes. I did however change my order to a blue peppercorn burger. The burger came out with no blue cheese and was very dry they replaced the burger but it was still blah. They also said they’d take off my friend’s margarita and give us a spiked strawberry lemonade for free which when we looked at the receipt they did in fact charge us but we’re accommodating and took them off. Overall I think this place would be decent if they had enough staff or better training. If/when I go back will be awhile ✌?

Went for lunch … arrived and no one was at the front desk to greet us. Also, we waited for 20 minutes and no one came. It was empty up front. The bartender was working but didn’t acknowledge us. With the chain restaurant industry struggling as it is .. I’m surprised they are letting money walk out the door. I don’t recommend.

I went here Saturday night with a group of friends and was taken care of by German. Our orders were correct and tasted great. German was an excellent server—he regularly checked on us, greeted us with humor, and added to our positive experience at the restaurant, even though it was a busy Saturday night. We were the last group of people to leave the restaurant that night but never felt rushed, and as we were leaving other staff members wished us well. Overall it was a nice dining experience.

Well i will start with the fact that this was my second visit to that establishment. During my first visit i could not help but notice that the chairs, at least at the bar area, needed replacement. All seats had torn/cracked leather cushins, taped over with black duct tape. But that was ok. I could live with that. Last Saturday though i tried to get my family for dinner. We went in, and asked the hostesses /there were 2 girls at the front/ to be seated on a hi-top table in the bar area. They told us there were none available. I did ask what do they mean? Clearly there were 2 available tables, they just needed to be cleaned. There were still plates from previous patrons. The girls said "But they need to be cleaned". We said that this was OK. We could wait. After all on one of the tables there was only one plate and a glass. Should not take long. So we waited. We waited 15 minutes, for a table to get cleaned. While waiting a third hi-top table get vacated as well. So, there was availability, it is not they did not have available tables. As we were waiting, the 2 girls/kids in the front did not even tried to get the tables ready. They did not clean them /i understand it might be not in their job description/, but at least call someone - nothing! I stopped a guy that worked there passing by and asked him if he can help us out and have a table cleaned. The answer i got was "I am not a bus boy"; Absolute no interest from anyone in the restaurant to have tables clean and seat customers. The girls at the front kept ignoring us, so after 15 minutes of embarassing wait time, as if we were asking for something ridiculous we left. I will never set foot there again. And for the management - FYI, this ignorance of your staff lost you $200 which my family and i gladly spent at Bella Napoli. As a proof of my words you can check your security video. 4.5 stars. I came here after shopping at Woodfield Mall recently. Granite City, was open late and close by. I had the whiskey glazed salmon and chicken tortilla soup. The salmon had excellent flavor and cooked very well. The chicken tortilla soup was creamy and tasty. Service was good. Overall good location and service.

Met an old colleague of mine for lunch after he suggested we go there. I forgot how large of an environment it is there. Typical brew pub set up with a nice large bar in the middle. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup to start with which was very good. For my meal I decided to go with a burger. Had to try the Bedda Chedda burger as I can't argue with "piled high" cheddar cheese. When it showed up I was pleasantly surprised! This sucker had like 4" of cheddar piled on top! Ooooh yeah! The whole burger was very flavorful and I really enjoyed the BBQ sauce that was on it. You wouldn't have to twist my arm to go back.
