Went to a group luncheon here recently which was held in their private dining room. Simply put, this area needs a major remodeling. It was dark and dingy with worn out chairs and decor. The bathroom there was in sorry shape and not maintained. The food was not that good for an Italian restaurant. Average at best. Been here in the past and it used to be better. No more.

Well, after six months in Schaumburg, and after passing this restaurant daily in that time? It was TIME for a try! Ok- on arrival, I was immediately greeted by a nice young man - but after I said "Dinner for one, please?" - he promptly disappeared with no explanation. He returned, didn't speak to me, then disappeared w/o any acknowledgement of my arrival. NOT a great way to treat a 1st time client, right? The young lady there then asked if I'd been helped - I told her I thought the young man would seat me? She disappeared; he returned, and w/o any apology he sat me down w/o comment. I somehow must have reminded him of either an estranged older brother or - god forbid- a father he was ticked off at. Not reassuring for a first impression. After a wait of about 3 minutes, a lovely lady, Cindy, came to introduce herself and take my drink order (a Peroni, natch!). Service was lovely and timely from this point on - thank goodness. A popular place, with a large menu incorporating pizza (thin and stuffed crust, of course- this is Chicagoland, after all) - I ordered an appetizer of Italian sausage medallions in a tasty tomato-based sauce - absolutely stunning flavor and one I'll look forward to in a future visit. Dinner was a small thin crust margherita pizza. While it was a very serviceable pizza with fresh ingredients, the crust- along the edges - had little flavor to it. Might be the norm, but to this West-coaster it tasted slightly bland. But all said? It was really nice and enjoyable, esp with the chili flakes added :) Will I return? I will give them another shot- absolutely. I suspect it's family owned and the young man working would - to put it mildly - would rather "not" be working. I get it. I was a teen once as well. But if it's putting food on your table and a roof over your head? A bit more care and concern to your customers is needed. Not trying to bash the young man- he just needs to realize that you only get one first impression with a new customer - BUT- Cindy - the waitperson who did the actual heavy-lifting? A pure joy, absolutely. I'll bring my hub-hub next time - but it would have been a 5 but for the aforementioned young man's lack of customer service skills.

Ordered a plain cheese pizza last Friday, half with ricotta. The pizza was not fresh, I could tell. I live across the street and picked it up. My son wouldn’t even eat one small square of it because the cheese was not melty and warm. Had to choke down a few pieces so I didn’t feel like it was a waste. I used to love their pizza but it has clearly gone downhill lately. I was very disappointed. $20 down the drain.

What a fantastic place for dinner and an even better place to host a luncheon. I had a group of about 30 people for a memoriallunch and Katie took care of everything. The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding! We got plenty of food at a very reasonable price. If you haven't tried this restaurant yet you're really missing out!!

A big restaurant with a big menu! Stopped for lunch with my son. The food is very affordable and the food sizes are 2 meals big. They immediately brought 2 rolls that had been sliced open and garlic butter was melted inside. I saw the pepper and egg sandwich which was delicious and filling. I took half home. My son ordered the pasta with chicken and broccoli. A big plate with enough to take home. It's not fancy food but good Italian food. Their soups are good too. The minestrone was packed with pasta and vegetables for my son and I had the cream of broccoli. Outstanding!

Ordered a caprese sandwich. They said it came on Foccacia. This barely qualifies as supermarket quality bread, let alone restaurant quality. This was the most disappointing excuse for focaccia I’ve ever seen.AND WHAT KIND OF SAD INDIVIDUAL PUTS LETTUCE ON A CAPRESE SANDWICH. Tomato, Mozzerella, basil, balsamic. That’s it. Those are the ingredients. Nothing more, nothing less. Worst caprese sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. I might try pasta or pizza, but never again will I order a sandwich here.

If you're looking for a real authentic Italian restaurant/food THIS IS THE PLACE. The inside definitely hasn't changed for 30 years but that's what makes this place so special. The pizza is phenomenal, the pasta portions are huge and delicious. The service was great as well. This place reminded me of a time warp in the best way. Places like this should be protected at all costs! Don't ever change!
