It was our first time here and we may have found our new taco spot. The food was great, but even better was the customer service which is rare these days. The gentleman up front (I believe his name was Jose) walked us through the menu with great recommendations. He also checked on us to make sure we're satisfied with our food. Already recommended this spot to a few friends. Will definitely return! ☺️

Accidentally found this place drunk while drinking in Schaumburg. for background I am from Yorkville which is 45 minutes away. Now about once per week I drive 45 minutes to this restaurant just to order four tacos and chips and salsa and it is absolutely worth the drive and the price I suggest this restaurant to all who love Mexican
Where do I start? There is original Mexican food and there is American Mexican food (Chipotle). Both are good based on your individual thought about Mexican food. Taco Maya isn't either of the two. Maybe it's because of the location and demographics but that shouldn't change how Mexican food is made. This shouldn't be considered Mexican food. I've done better in my own kitchen. It looked Mexican but didn't taste like it at all. I had a chicken quesadilla and it was cut in cubes and DRY. I also had Al Pastor (pork) and it was extremely generic and had zero flavor of what is typical of Mexican food.Again, maybe it's due to the demographics of the area but this place wouldn't do very well in Chicago, especially because of the extremely high prices and the small portions. I tried this place hoping I found a diamond in the rough, instead I found a lump of coal. This was the worse rendition of Mexican food I've ever tasted. On a scale from 1 - 10, I have to give it a 1 because I was so disappointed.Suggestion: the boxes are nice but you need to increase the portions for those prices. Oh by the way we didn't dine-in and you charged us a Restaurant fee (3.00%). It was take outGood luck

Their quality of food has gone down. A vegetarian paneer taco salad shud not consist of undercooked paneer, no onions, just a couple of greens, n some cheese. And I should not cost $16 plus tax for one track salad.
The steak fajitas were outstanding, as was the Supreme burrito! They give complimentary chips & salsa, too. They were backed up with orders and the staff came out to the dining room to let us know there would be a delay. Such a simple, but much appreciated gesture. It was well worth the wait. The fried ice cream was sooo yummy! It's a large portion- plenty for two after some delicious Mexican cuisine. This place is a must try!!

Phenomenal Chicken Tinga Tacos. Highly recommend. The place makes really good food, service is good and prices are decent. If you dine in they give you comp. Chips and homemade salsa which is really nice. Their horchatas and margarita are amazing. Their seasonal empanadas are delicious and packed with flavor. Also, for dessert the fried ice cream is a great choice. Definitely stop by Taco Maya and give em a try.
Wanted to give a shoutout to Manny & Jose for making my mother in law’s birthday event a wonderful time! We are regular customers here and wanted to show the rest of our family the amazing Chingon tacos! Thank you to both Manny & Jose for the great service & the amazing micheladas, we will be back soon
