I picked this place for my birthday lunch. It has a nice interior and a great atmosphere. The antique bar is beautiful. They spaced the customers with a table in between when possible, that's a nice touch. Our waiter, Jake, was awesome. She had their chicken pot pie. It was like a fresh pot pie in a freshly baked bread bowl and she loved it.I had the Dijon bass and it was excellent despite my initial misgivings. The flavors and textures were perfectly balanced. Their rice is well seasoned and delicious too. Their vegetables were fresh but a bit cold.My French onion soup was rich and tasty with a huge chunk of mozzarella,.Her salted caramel brownie was pretty amazing. I got spumoni mostly for nostalgic reasons and it was really good.Great place with decent prices and wonderful food.

This was my fifth time dining at The Great Escape and the first time for my two friends who I invited out to dinner. The decore & atmosphere is very nice. Dress is very casual to business casual. The menu is extensive. We ea had a side salad w homemade dressing. I had the half duck w dressing & broccoli, and my friends had the Chicken Parmesan with pasta and the Broasted half chicken w potato wedges and green beans. For dessert, my friends shared a chocolate molent lava cake w ice cream & whipped cream, I had a brownie with caramel sauce, ice cream & whipped cream. We shared the beignets. The duck and broasted chicken were both well seasoned, tender, and properly cooked. The duck dressing/stuffing was simply prepared and amazingly delicious. The pasta appeared to be fresh, and the sauce was obviously homemade and not acidic. Our waitress was very patient and courteous w us. She also had to cover the bar, which explained why we occasionally had a different waitress check up on us. We all agreed that we highly recommend The Great Escape and would definitely make a return visit.

I have never been here but, my elderly uncle ate here last week. He has been sick ever since and he swears it’s the chicken pot pie.

My sister and I have enjoyed this restaurant in the past while visiting family in the Chicago area. But this time, neither the food nor service was a 5 rating as before. We both tried a different dish (duck with soggy stuffing) and were not completely satisfied. Although our waitress was nice, we felt rushed. After clearing our dinner plates, she brought the check without asking us if we'd like coffee or dessert. We went elsewhere for dessert. We were very disappointed and may not go back next time in town.

Easter brunch was ridiculous. Food buffet trays had no food and was told that they were making more food. They should have told this when we ordered. Also, the food was cold and tasted weird. The server was nice and offered other choices..This is the last time we will dine there.

There were 4 of us. The food was excellent. The drinks were made very well. We had martinis and old fashions. All around epsilon experience. We will be going back and it's about a 35-minute drive.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. My Mom and I stopped to have a nice lunch and afterviewing the photos on the website I decided to try the French onion soup and the pot pie. My Mom ordered the egg plant Parmesan and a cup of French onion soup as well. Our food was delicious! The chicken pot pie had a very nice flavored sauce, it had white chicken meat and it was huge. The baked French onion soup was so good! I could have ate a whole pot of it. The atmosphere was very classy yet it had a relaxed feel to it. It would be a great place for a pre- wedding dinner, anniversary dinner birthday lunch/dinner or just for a nice meal. They have a full bar and gambling machines . The waiter was pleasant and on task. Overall, we both decided we will go back. If you are in the area or looking for a nice place to have a casual or upper class meal this may be your place.Vegetarian options: They did have several choices for vegetarians. My Mom doesn't eat meat.
