Kura is the first ever Revolving Sushi Bar in Skokie/Evanston area. Decided to come here with friends to enjoy some sushi.your order. Best part is if you don't find what you want on the belt, you can order it on the screen and the order is They have a fun revolving belt which delivers delivered on the belt. There is a moving robot that is fun to watch which brings you water and drinks order. They have main entree, soups, sushi and desserts to choose from. It is a fun experience to see food going around, feels like somewhere else like Japan or Singapore.

Came here with an out of town guest on a Sat evening. Three stars for the fun, experiencial dinner we were expecting (little prizes for eating more plates; we won two with 30+ plates), but overall underwhelmed by the quality of the conveyor belt sushi/items. I'd be remiss if I didn't highlight the friendly staff, entertaining robot serving drinks, kid-friendliness, and the option to order food directly to your table. Tip: you can ever order the items that appear as conveyor options if you want the freshest/higher quality (imo) presentation. Our favorite items: eel nigiri, eel with cream cheese, and crispy rice with various toppings, and yellow tail nigiri. Beef box wasn't bad and was a nice way to fill up as I'm personally refraining from raw fish. Fun restaurant to bring kiddos/guests and experience at least once (especially if you haven't tried rotating sushi before). Come with a playful attitude because you're going to hear a singing robot rollllll on by every few mins.

As cute as fun this place is, the food was a huge letdown. The conveyor belt was mostly empty which is fine since you can get your food made to order. We tried a little of everything. The raw fish was dull instead of shiny which was not a good sign and did not taste right so we went with cooked food from then on. Miso soup was not hot and did not taste right either. Beef dish with rice was basically bowl of rice with beef garnish and the meat was mostly gristle. I did like their rice which was nicely seasoned and the green tea was delicious. Desserts were tasty. Staff was friendly. We went mid March and they did not have liquor license yet so I cannot comment on the alcohol selection. All in all if you don't have high expectations for the sushi and are in the Old Orchard mall vicinity then this is a fun place to go. The beverages (soft drinks and tea for now) are distributed by a cute robot.

This place has such a cute interior! There are tablets at each table so that you can order drinks or food if you don't see what you want on the revolving bar. The Kura sushi roll and umami cucumber salad were some of our standout favorites! We will definitely be back soon.

Fun sushi experience. I love the many dish option and that the pieces were small enough for us not to get full right away. The con is that the portion was a bit too small for $3.50+ per plate. Service was good from the staff, but the rotary was so disappointing. They were barely any dish available. They were all empty plates passing by and it wasn't even ridiculously busy. We ended up just ordering through the screen.

mixed girl server was great, easy to talk to (sorry i forgot her name), very helpful. brought my mother here for her first time and had a wonderful experience! i was actually worried about the sushi quality not being that great , but it was actually really delicious and fresh. we went around noon on a weekend. love the little keychain gift, you get a gift after 15 plates. when taking the sushi plates you have to do a little wiggle to get them to open, but i am used to just being able to slide them right out. the little robot that serves drinks is really cute and brings a good energy to the restaurant. overall a really great experience.

Is it the best sushi I've ever had? No. Is it an incredibly fun and novel little activity for a great date night? YES! I'll be back, Kura Sushi. Also, the salmon nigiri was delightful.

This place is so much fun. They have an app so you can put your name in ahead of time although despite lots of empty tables there's still a wait. There are no waiters. Everything is done by a computer screen. You select what you want and it comes on a conveyor belt to you, with the exception of drinks that come on a drink robot. There's also a rotating conveyor belt where you can take the food off and eat it, but it's actually just easier to order from the screen. All the plates from the conveyor belt are $3.40 but you can order other items like soup and dessert from the screen that cost more. When you are done with the items you get from the conveyor belt you drop them down a shaft and you score points. For every 15 you get a gachapon. This is the one area I think they could fix. That's a lot of money for some stupid trinket. It's a fun idea but it's rude for them to only give it at 15 plates.Parking: It's in a strip mall so there's a giant free parking lot.Kid-friendliness: This place is so much fun for kids.

A fun experience and decent food! We came for dinner and I think if we had ended up waiting for the food to come by on the belt then we would have left unhappy. A lot of the containers were empty, but the nice part is that you can order and it will come directly to your table. The surprise star of the night was this sweet potato sundae which was just delicious. I think it's a limited time item but it was a perfect end to dinner. The prize that came for 15 plates was a sticker. Cute idea and I can see people getting excited to collect all the stickers. (Technically you can just pay for it, but where's the fun in that?). I will be back again sometime for sure.

I’ve gone here four or five times now and the quality is consistently getting worse which is sad because they haven’t even been open that long. They barely put anything out on the conveyer, the sodas are flat, the and the food just isn’t that good which is sad because I’ve been to other Kuras and they’re fantastic! This location needs some serious attention.

We hit the call button to get a server to order, no one came. The conveyer belt is set up to if you're not in the front you won't ever get food. We left and I'm still hungry.. the crispy rice wasnt on the menu to order and they never made it to us on the belt.

Second time coming here. First time was opening week and the plates were almost always full and there was a large variety of options. Second time was much less impressive. Went there Saturday at around 5pm. About 80% of the plates were empty. They'd only refill the same ones at a fairly slow rate. Removed some desserts they had from opening week. Overall a disappointment compared to the Schaumburg location. Hopefully it's just new opening problems that be resolved.
