I love nigiri and although I've tried many sushi places, Makisu has continued to be hands-down the best quality fish I've had, and we've been coming for years. I noticed some of the reviews didn't love their maki. I think their maki is good, but can't say is the most interesting as I don't tend to get much maki - I'd rather really enjoy the fish. The ambiance went downhill during the pandemic, as they had fewer customers. It used to be quite cute with good service, so it's possible things will improve as it recovers. In the meantime, we've been mostly ordering it to go, which works for us, but they do still have a small amount of seating. I've also had their salmon poke bowl, which is wonderful. A good amount of fish, plus a variety of textures and flavors. I like that they have some tofu options, so when I want to eat entirely plant-based, I can here. My husband loves their salad dressing and often orders extra to have throughout the week. Their gyoza are perfect. I could eat here 3 times a week if I could convince my husband to eat that much sushi!

Something is going on over at this restaurant. We've been ordering for quite a while. The tofu has shrunk! The vegetables taste over cooked and mushy. Portion sizes have also shrunk. Nothing like we've been enjoying for quite sometime. Oh well, guess we need to find another place

Great value sushi. The servers are nice too. Small space so not a lot of indoor seating but definitely worth a visit as I have year to find it crowded. Highly recommend.

I love the poke bowl lunch special they pack a large plastic container with rice salmon or tuna and a bunch of toppings with miso soup on the side sushi is also pretty good

The owner and staff were all very friendly. They treated each guest as if they were a good friend. Great food that looked and tasted good and also came out fairly quickly. We sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chef gave us an extra snack that was great. Would definitely come here again.

Love this place. Smallish in size but more than makes up for it in style. Staff is warm friendly and food is great! Back it up with a good pour from the bar and you have a great combination!
Great generous Japanese food. Smallish space with wooden floor that can be noisy when crowded. Understaffed but efficient waitress.

Order was fast, however the fish was slimy and multiple hairs in my roll. Avocado roll was good.

Don't order a margarita. It was just like weak lime water. Sushi was normal (I was expecting a lot because there are a lot of good reviews here). There were old food stains on the menu. Service was not great. Probably won't go back.

Makisu offers very tasty sushi at a very fair price - great qpr here! Highly recommended trying them out if you haven't already.

My wife and I had Valentine's lunch and it was excellent. Very unexpected portion sizes for a chef selection lunch special and staff was very attentive. We will be back
