This is an institution in Skokie! I wish you could give it more stars. The hotdogs are sensational. The burgers are the best around the french fries what dreams are made of their chicken breast sandwiches satisfying any non-meat lovers appetite everything there is excellent. The staff is great the owners great, thank you so much for being here and providing the great food. If you're in Skokie, do not miss this place the chain that begins with P and ends in OS cannot compare.

This unassuming hot dog joint kind of hidden in a strip mall on Dempster may be the home of the best Chicago-style dog in the Chicagoland area. From the fluffy steamed poppyseed bun to the snappy steamed dog to all the fresh topping (including red tomato slices that from ripe tomatoes!) they KNOW what a Chicago dog is and they serve it with pride. The fries are pillowy and perfectly done and hot. As a bonus, the place itself is very clean and cheerful with plenty of seating and the workers are friendly. I can't speak for their other food, but based on the presentation of their dog and fries, I'm guessing it's very good. If you are craving a Chicago dog done the way it should be, Poochie's is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Our company used Poochies to cater our company picnic at a Cook County Forest Preserve picnic site. To say that Poochies “hit it out of the park” is an understatement! Chris made the entire process easy – including guidance on menu selection and quantity. The Poochies truck and staff arrived early, set-up beautifully and provided amazing service. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. Poochies staff worked hard to meet the needs of a variety of adults and children. Accommodations were made for some people who had dietary restrictions. No one went hungry. And the clean-up was impeccable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Poochies to meet the needs of any type of party whether corporate or private.Vegetarian options: Veggie burgers, cheese only, gluten free accommodationDietary restrictions: Poochies met the needs of some people without any problems.Kid-friendliness: Poochies easily accommodated the needs of the kids.

I've been going to Poochie's for years, and this hot dog eatery has been around since '69, serving up hot dogs, sausages, burgers, sandwiches, dinner plates (salami, chicken breast, brisket, and skirt steak), salads, soups, chili, and shakes/malts. I haven't been a fan of their char dogs and burgers lately, but when I get a craving for Cheddar Fries (that uses Merkt's), I come here. The waffle fries are generously topped with Merkt's cheddar sauce that is super thick, cheesy, and salty. Sometimes, they don't mix the cheese sauce well so it gets a little clumpy, or there is some separation issue. Service is always friendly, and I love the decor of the place with the Chicago memorabilia. Parking is available in the small lot. +Cheddar Fries! +small lot for parking
