This place is the most authentic Thai food I’ve had in Chicago. Make sure to ask for a spice tray with your meal, it has such great flavors!

Be prepared to wait well over an hour for your food. This was dine in, can't imagine pickup. Food was good otherwise. Waitress could have been nicer and helpful but was not.

We live around the corner. The food here is top notch! The Pad Kee Mao especially is my go to order. It is packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice. I could this every day! Try it!

Food was decent, but false advertising on menu for the clay pot fried rice with crab. Said its serves two but was definitely a portion size for one. Buyer beware.

They look like they are closed? Permanently? 1/25/2024 Does anybody know if they are still open? ???????????????????????????????????

While this is sort of a "nothing special" kind of place, they don't make any serious mistakes either. They were not just willing to adjust heat levels for each dish, but rather they expected to and asked about preferences during the order process. We were a somewhat large group, six, and all points in the spice spectrum were represented and catered to. We had a vegetarian at the table as well as some sensitive to food allergies and they were completely accommodating. As long as you are looking for "American Thai", you won't be surprised but you won't be disappointed either.Vegetarian options: They were quite open about making just about anything into a vegetarian-acceptable dish. And there was no question they understood what that meantParking: This part of Skokie, which doesn't really have a "downtown", has quite a lot of free street parking. We ended up literally across the street from the restaurant in spite of it being prime lunch time.

My long-time friend wanted to take me out to lunch. She had Tub Tim Thai in mind for our lunch date. She highly recommended this restaurant in downtown Skokie. Now I have to be honest. I have eaten at several different Thai restaurants and never thought the food was all that great. So my expectations were not that high when we arrived at Tum Tim Thai. The inside of the restaurant is a pleasant place not too highly decorated, but quiet since there were about five or six tables with other diners. My friend ordered an appetizer, Meant Kim, which consisted of fresh Chapoo leaves topped with roasted coconut, sun-dried shrimp, bean sprouts, ground peanuts, diced ginger, shallots, lime and peanuts along with a side of hot Thai sauce and the regular sauce. When I saw that it had coconuts, I was worried. I really do not like coconut. However once I applied the regular sauce I absolutely loved the flavors. Excellent appetizer. Then my friend ordered what she wanted and I am sorry, but I can not remember what she ordered but I guess it was a dish she usually orders. I ordered the Stir-Fried Vegetables which included red rice, mushrooms, asparagus, pea pods, carrots, onions and green beans. I added sliced pork and it came with a side of the regular sauce and a wonderful peanut sauce. I absolutely loved this dish. I thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful flavors.I would say that Tum Tim Thai is a wonderful place to come and enjoy a wonderful meal, plus the waitress/hostess Abby was wonderful to have work with us and serve us. Her mother Chantra is the cook.Just the best Thai food I have ever had. I highly recommend Tum Tim Thai. This restaurant is located in downtown Skokie at 4927 Oaken Street.
