I chose Hi way bakery because my parents used to get our cakes there when we were kids. I called them during Holy Week as I needed a custom order cake for my daughter’s birthday coming up on that weekend. They were able to accommodate my request and the cake turned out absolutely beautiful!!! My daughter was very pleased. I highly recommend their cakes and their vanilla long Johns. The service is excellent too. Everyone is so friendly!

Called John asked to update prices said it costs him $2000 to update his board and was sarcastic about how he should handle the price announcements. His prices state 9.95 a dozen and its really 19.00 d9nt understand how adding a number 1 in front of that price is impossible?!! John you have to use some thinking skills not complicated at all. If you truly cared then you would listen because as I stood in line other customers agreed. Just shows he doesn't care or is open to customer concerns. Not worth the money you spend. Pearson's it is from now on for me and my family.

Ordered a cake for my birthday. When my husband picked it up they said they didn't have a ticket for a cake for us. They asked if we ordered from a different bakery by mistake. Checked my bank account and the money for the cake was taken out so the mistake was theirs. They said it is what it is. They'd get one together for me. They had just over an hour to get it done. They did but they cake looked awful. Not at all what I had ordered, hoped for. The taste was good but I didn't even want to take a picture of it it looked so bad. Sprinkles and blobs of color instead of roses. They did they're best in a short amount of time but again it was their mistake and I was very disappointed. It was my first time ordering from this bakery but have had cakes from there at other events. Maybe I'd try them again but I don't know. I guess when you have been in business that long and have lots of customers you can treat customers like it doesn't matter if you screw up their order. No big deal if you lose one or two.

I love this place- it's like that tv show "Cheers." Except "Cheers" was a bar with alcohol. Highway has donuts & coffee. Did I mention the cherry turnovers? That's my favorite! The ladies behind the counter are friendly, funny & make sure you're happy with your order. They were featured on "Chicago's Best" and are proud of it. Check it out!

went there based on the recommendation of a friend who works there and invited me to drop in. place looks great from the outside with its old school sign. big ez in ez out parking lot. got there around 8 am, place was just moderately busy so I had a chance to briefly chat with my friend. she remembered my coffee and donut orders, extra large extra cream extra sugar and a boston cream! ain't that what it's all about? the coffee was just right and the boston cream was delicious. how about that, morning coffee and donut from a real bakery.
