This was a definite throw back in time. Super cold frosted mug of root beer was what brought me back the next day for round two. Great place a must if you are in Springfield!

Great experience here. Took our three kiddos in and the place was great. Staff very friendly. Feels like an old school burger joint. Menu is simple. We got one of everything. The samwiches are great, fries good, was impressed w chili and curds. Portions are honestly how Americans should be eating vs. how much they want. Would recommend and willl definitely return. It is worth checking out if you’re in the area vs. eating at a franchise

Edwin through the drive-through for the first time the lady didn’t even even ask me what I’m drink I wanted just gave me Root beer I wanted hamburgers and fries. The hamburger meat is not even a burger. I paid $11 for something that should’ve been charged maybe four. Absolute worst burger in

We stopped in Springfield during a long road trip and saw there was a Made-Rite and had to stop since we’ve had it before other areas of the country. The food, drinks, and service was wonderful, but what really made my day was the history on the place! I couldn’t believe that this building was one of the original franchises and on the National registry of historical places built in 1924. They also hold the claim as the first drive thru restaurant!

Cute spot. Love maid rite. Solid service. I think they even make their own root beer. Classic spot

a bigger Sloppy joe version of a white castle slider with excellent crispy fries and super friendly service The Maid Rite is basically a slider but with loose sloppy joe meat (no sauce) with pickles for that nice tartness that goes great with a white castle slider. Fries are thin and crispy, sooo good Staff are super friendly. Place is dated but go for just an enjoyable time.

I love nostalgia. We stumbled across this place that has been here for 99 years. We thought it would be pork tenderloin sandwiches but it was loose meat hamburgers. We had two with fries and a homemade root beer. I also had chili. I liked everything about it. I'm going to go back again soon.
Old world charm along with the sandwich was awesome #

Showed up about 45 minutes before closing. Wanted to try a loose meat sandwich at the first drive thru. We walked from the Lincoln museum. It was really quick. Was there about 20 minutes, with eating inside. We ordered at the window inside, and food was delivered to the table fast. The service was great and the staff was very nice. No frills, very basic. I enjoyed the sandwich and fries. If I lived in Springfield, I would go there. If I go back to Springfield, I would go back.

The first drive thru window diner in the country. Nothing hasexcept that they don’t seem to give you gumdrops with their magical loose-meat (maid-rite) sandwiches anymore.
