This place is beautiful and the guacamole was soooo good. My friend and I talked about it days after visiting lol. And the drinks and service were great as well! I’ve only been once so I’m only giving it a 4 star for now because I don’t know how consistent they are yet. But so far I would highly recommend visiting.

La Mesa is a nice modern Mexican style Restaurant. Its well worth your time and money. The restaurant looks really nice but of course it's an upscale Mexican restaurant- we're in St. Charles ?. The food is good and tasty. The appetizers were awesome the Ceviche and camarones were pretty darn good. The Skirt steak and shrimp Fajitas were yummy ?. The service and hospitality top notch ?. The margaritas are great a little small but very good. Really good!

We had reservations for 6. When we got there the girls said we will go set your table. They only set it for 4. We had to ask for water refills multiple times and we had to ask for the other 2 silverware.

I loved this restaurant!! The margaritas were fantastic and the food was delicious. It's rare that you go somewhere and everything is good, but this place is the exception. We got a few appetizers including beans and guacamole, and our table tried a variety of the entrees- our group was 10 people so I don't know everything that was tried- but I had the tuna tacos and I know there were also fajitas and a mushroom dish that won over my family members. The server we had was also so kind (I think their name was Skylar?). They were attentive to our group, answered all our questions, and just above and beyond. It was my step brother's birthday and they also brought out a dessert with a candle which was awesome. If you get a middle high table, there's a bar for you to rest your feet, too. I thought I was going to be annoyed swinging my legs halfway through dinner but it truly feels like they thought of everything here! Highly recommend trying this spot out!Parking: Parking was the only annoying thing here- best bet to park in the free lot about a block away. We left around 9/10 pm on a Saturday and the lot was filled with a bunch of teenagers doing dumb stuff with their cars on the top level of the lot, so just a heads up there. That has nothing to do with the actual restaurant itself, but something to note.

The ceviche was amazing. The quality, flavor, size, and presentation of the dish were five stars and rivaled that of what you get in Mexico at a nice restaurant. The tacos were of the same caliber. Filling, quality, and well-balanced.

Service here was great and restaurant is clean and spacious. The food was just ok though. They have a few different guacs which were pretty good, but the tacos didn’t really impress. Tuna tacos didn’t have enough meat and too much mayo sauce and cabbage as filler. Drinks were interesting and tons of options for margaritas.

A bit dark that it was hard to see the menu. My tongue was sensitive to their spices because everything that was not spicy was still spicy to me. I was eating my food with running nose and teary eyes. The waiter left me the entire bottle of water and asked if I wanted a cup of milk but I refused and told him I will take it like a champ. Other than that, the food was delicious and the salsa with chips were addicting.
