Sweet Dreams has been a family favorite for years! They have made so many birthday cakes/cupcakes for us. We keep coming back because of the quality and taste of their cakes. The cookies are delicious too!

I have debated about writing a review I don't usually write them, but I really wish I had read ALL the reviews before choosing them to do my son's wedding cake. First off the inside of this place is old, dated and looks dirty. one small display counter had a few trays of cupcakes and some cookies. I should always trust my first impression. I wanted a two layer vanilla cake with raspberry filling and white chocolate icing. I was told no white chocolate icing, okay fine, I had my own cake topper and supplied the silk flowers I wanted to trail down the cake. this cake cost me $160.00. it was probably the worst tasting cake I have ever had. I was so embarrassed ...out of serving 20 guests I noticed ALL the plates had more than half of their serving left. The cake was dry and hard, not soft and spongy, the filling was fine but it was only the middle layer, for a cake this size it should have been doubled, and finally the icing had no flavor it was blan, not only did I not get white chocolate as desired, I feel like I got nothing, I can't even describe the flavor. what a shame , I'm just so disappointed and I'm out $160 bucks. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. the top layer was 20 servings, and I still have the whole bottom layer ...I suppose I'll feed to my garbage can.

Sweet Dreams created not only the most beautiful wedding cake I could have asked for, but also the most delicious! I gave her a few ideas of things that I liked and she combined them all into something that was even better than I imagined. We had leftovers and even after being frozen for several weeks, the cake is still the best cake I've ever tasted!

Had an birthday celebration in Chicagoland that I had to plan from afar. Deanna and her team did a great job coordinating what we needed. Even provided gluten free cookies. Our friends at the party loved the cake and complimented how fresh it was and how delicious the butter cream frosting was. We heard "the cake pops were the best" that some guests ever had. Thank you for making it easy and taste so good. Strongly recommend!!!!!Dietary restrictions: Provided some great gluten free cookies for our family members.
I liked the outside of cake but the inside of it was very dry didn’t taste like vanilla it was disgusting had to throw whole cake out nobody liked it and I feel like you just gave us a 1 week old cake you spelt my daughters name wrong you were very unprofessional with the time frame was suppose to receive cake between 12-1 an got cake at 7 pm I definitely wouldn’t recommend !!

I’ve known Deanna for years, and she is always such a pleasure working with. She is EXTREMELY talented in her baking, and her customer service is awesome. She is definitely a staple in this community that we are lucky to have. She recently did a wedding for a client of mine, and the guests were raving about her desserts! She has also done many of my kids cakes/cupcakes for their birthdays. She is just very talented and so very kind.

We have purchased the 6" vanilla with buttercream frostimg cakes for several celebrations and they have all been really beautiful. This last one was for a birthday cake and the lettering and decorative rose was done perfectly. Thank you for helping us in celebrating our day!

I ordered a cake for my daughter’s 15th birthday. It had beautiful purple roses all over. Two tier chocolate cake with chocolate ganache in the middle. Absolutely delicious. I will always be a customer. Thank you so much.
I ordered my daughters sweet 16 birthday cake from Hyvee bakery.When I went to pick it up I was devastated that it looked nothing like the picture I handed them. With less then 2 days before my daughters party ,I was left scrambling and worried that I wouldn't be able to find an actual bakery to pull off acake in such short notice.I Google bakeries and picked Sweet dream bakery and when Donna (the owner) answered I explained my dilemma trying to hold back tears she was very sweet and professional put me on hold to see if she had anything I was asking for available to decorate and she did she made my daughters cake perfectly and in such short notice. Donna did a great job on my daughters cake and I'm so grateful she took the time to make this special cake.Thank you to sweet dream bakery.April McNeilly

Wow, people are so rude in these comments! I have lived in the area for years now and never heard of Sweet Dream until my friend had requested a variety of treats for her graduation party. The cookies were so appealing to the eye I remember thinking that there was no way they could both look that great and taste good. WRONG. And though usually carrot cake has never been my favorite, nobody would stop ranting and raving so I gave in. The frosting to cake ratio was perfect, it was beyond fresh& moist and I really wish I tried everything else that was catered. It was clear that a substantial amount of time was spent paying attention to detail and perfecting everything about each item. 100/10 would recommend and when I need an order in the future I know who I will be calling.

I use to live in DeKalb and Sweet Dreams was my go to for the best cupcakes and desserts. Deanna and Phil were so friendly and when they were offering lunch, I would visit with the staff and eat their food creations.Deanna created a beautiful card game cake for a wedding that I was in. Everyone loved the design and taste.What I love most is that Sweet Dreams cakes are with buttercream icing rather than fondant. Overall, this place is great. Sylvia F.

Had a tasting for an upcoming wedding, food was bland and the cupcakes were sloppy looking. When we decided not to go with them, I politely sent an email telling them we were going a different direction. I had put down a $200 deposit to hold the date. I've asked several times, nicely, to have my deposit returned, no response. Horrible way to do business.Edit: response to the owner - I am not going to argue with you, I'm simply stating my experience. I completely understand you wanting to protect your business. Perhaps if you would have called me or even responded to one of the emails I sent to explain your stand on this, I would have not left such a harsh review. My emails politely asked you to return my deposit. To not respond or even acknowledge is poor business. You served roast beef without any gravy, it may be top choice, but it was dry and bland. White tableclothes don't change the fact that your cupcakes were very sloppy. Cupcakes from a bakery, especially when you are having a tasting, typically don't have batter hanging over the edges. I wish I would have taken pictures. We signed no contract with you, as it was sent after the fact. I understand it's only $200, this is a live and learn experience for me. I am just warning people to taste your food and meet with you before putting any money down.
