I got fried chicken for takeout and this was the best fried chicken I've eaten in years - like what I would expect to get at a fancy restaurant. Everything was crispy without being oily; even the fries were still fresh after the car ride. The chicken pieces were nice and big too. Kinda glad I don't live closeby or I'd be tempted to eat here multiple times a week.
Best food hands down. Everything here is so yum and the quality speaks for itself. Good place if you want to olit a plate between you and your bestie.

I haven't been blown away by good food in a while, especially in DeKalb County. The food was beyond amazing!!!!! THE CHEESE CURDS WERE THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER PUT IN MY MOUTH!!!! They also give you a great hefty amount of them if you get them as an appetizer. I got the dirty bird sandwich and it was phenomenal. So so so so good! The place was super clean too! Service was very nice. Even offered to give me a dime for the parking meter outside because I only had quarters . Unbelievable food! Will definitely be back!Vegetarian options: They had salads, fried pickles, cauliflower, and mushrooms!

Went to The Dirty Bird on a whim and could not have been happier with our choice. The hubs had the pulled pork and I chose the Reuben (recommended by our server). Huge chunks of fresh and juicy corned beef in my sandwich and freshly smoked pulled pork piled high with house made BBQ sauce for the hubs. Crinkle cut fries were even hot and delicious. Service was outstanding, the atmosphere was charming, and the food was stellar. Cannot wait to go back for the pork belly and chicken! The hubs will leave room for dessert next time, too. Also noticed one of the owners on site working his butt off with the servers - no wonder this place is so great! They care, folks!Parking: We parked at a street meter right in front of the restaurant - the meters take dimes and nickels.
We had a great time all around at Dirty Bird! It is quickly becoming one of our favorite places for chicken. In the summer they have a food truck at the DeKalb Farmer's Market, but they also have a restaurant open all year in Downtown Sycamore. This time around we got the fried pickles and mama bird basket. The fried pickles are thick and juicy. They came hot with crispy breading and pair nicely with ranch. We really enjoyed this appetizer. The mama bird basket comes with five chicken strips, your choice of side, and sauce. We were pleasantly surprised to get six good sized strips and plenty of fries. The strips are juicy, crispy, and have great flavor. We also tried the original and spicy bird sauces. Our favorite was the spicy that was sweet with a nice kick of heat. It's very reminiscent of Nashville Hot Chicken. The service by Emily was wonderful. She was very attentive and came around multiple times to refill our drinks and ask how the food was. The restaurant is also well decorated. The outside is on theme and resembles a chicken coop and the inside is well lit with plenty of tables. Overall, we had a great experience at the Dirty Bird and will definitely be back to try the specials and other food items!

This place is great! My family and I ordered straps and onion rings yo share. Both items were phenomenal. The sauces are excellent also! Our daughter ordered the Mac and cheese, she usually will not even touch it when it is a white cheese. She ate the entire bowl of it here and said it was great. The drink special was delicious too! I highly recommend this place. If you have had their food truck the food is even better in the restaurant!Parking: Paid street parking in front of the restaurant. There is a bank parking lot across the street that could be used when outside of bank hours.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly environment.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible and tables to accomodate.
The food is always fantastic here. It's well made and there is something for me and each of my 3 kids to eat. The staff is always friendly and they treat you like family. The owner came out and stopped at many tables to check on them and chat. Truly an awesome place
