Sakura Japanese Cuisine: A Disappointing ExperienceI recently had the misfortune of dining at Sakura Japanese Cuisine, and unfortunately, my expectations were not met. Despite the pleasant atmosphere, the food was a letdown. Overcooked sushi and lackluster tempura dishes left me underwhelmed. The usually comforting miso soup was merely lukewarm and lacking in depth. The service, too, was subpar. Long wait times and unfriendly staff made for an unpleasant experience. In the hopes that Sakura will improve, I suggest they focus on enhancing the quality of their food and service to meet the high standards expected of a Japanese cuisine establishment.

I was pretty disappointed in the food from here. Everything tasted very sweet and others that dined with me said the same of their food. The gyudon was far sweeter than I would have expected. The onions in it were good though and the egg wasn’t overcooked.

We went for lunch after the Christmas weekend. We ordered agadasi tofu from the appetizer menu, i believe; which is deep-fried tofu in a umami sauce, and i absolutely loved it. It was so flavourful. It was my first time tasting deep-fried tofu, so i had my doubts. But it's 100% recommended to try, i know I'm gonna have it again. Then, for main course, we had salmon teriyaki bento box and tempura udon. Both were delicious. Salmon bento box was nicely arranged and proportion wise very good size. I had to share with my husband as i couldn't finish everything. Tempura udon was also good size. It came with shrimp and veggie (squash and zucchini- we think) tempura. Udon was flavorful and tasty. Food was hot and service was very nice. The restaurant is very clean and well organized. Nice ambiance. We'll go back for sure.Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian option in almost all menu sectionsParking: There are paid street parking just in front of the restaurantWheelchair accessibility: The strret parking and entrance is wheelchair accessible.

This was our first and last visit. The restaurant was empty on Thursday at lunch time, and we saw why. They also had at least 6 health violations on their November report. The atmosphere was fine, a bit dark, but the service was quite slow considering we were the only table present for our entire visit. The server was scrolling on his phone behind the empty bar.The water served was tepid and tasted odd. My husband got the chicken katsu which was tough and flavorless. He only ate half. I had the sushi combo. The salmon was pretty ok and everything else was not very good. Having a krab stick on a sushi combo tray is a cop out. The tamago was not good and the white fish was poorly cut. It’s hard to mess up a California roll, but it too was a bit too mayonnaisey and had a fridge taste. The wasabi was definitely the cheap horseradish paste and the ginger did not taste very fresh either. In summary, nothing was particularly fresh or of quality to justify the prices. The food aspired to mid.

One of the best sushi experience we have ever had. We ordered shrimp shumai and chirashi. The shumai was steamed, not fried, which we loved, and it was so flavorful and you could really taste the shrimp. The chrashi was a work of ART. We have seldom seen other sushi chefs that put this much thought and effort into a chirashi. At $25, the chrashi had 14 pieces if sashimi (not including imitation crab and eggs), and also included some salmon roe. Worth every penny!! Our server, Maloban, was also very kind and responsive. One of the best dining experiences in town!!
