Easily the best Thai food in the area. Most places are raising their prices but Green Basil has not. Outstanding service, atmosphere and clean.

Not a bad spot.Combo rice at 4 was great. Anything higher and you prob wouldn't be able to eat it.Crying Tiger was a good meal also, good char on the steak. The wings for the appetizer was a miss, it was way to dry and no flavor. But other people at the table had it and there's was much better.Place is very quiet, only issue, we were seated near the back and the noise from the kitchen broke the peaceful vibe the restaurant offers.Really digging the artwork and the theme.Family friendly, yes, but know there is not much of a kids menu. So keep that in mind.

I have been going to GB for few years now and food quality as good if not better the first day I was there. Service folks are always friendly. I recommend trying Seafood Rangoon, simply the best in Chicago.

Used to be one of the go to places for a while. However in the last few visits over several months to an year we realized that they seemingly cut down on the portion size significantly.Drunken noodles used to come with reasonable amount of noodles. Last time they gave rice along with it just to prop up the noodles portion size. If one wanted rice one would choose a rice dishVery disingenuous for the price. Not going back.

Green Basil is always good. On this particular visit, I had Tom Kha soup with chicken and Pad See Ew with chicken. It is all bright, fresh and flavorful. The lunch service is quick.

Solid choice for Thai in the Vernon Hills area. Service is friendly and attentive, prices are on par with other casual restaurants in the area. We tried the seafood Rangoon which had large shrimp and tiny scallops, and a really good amount of filling. The basil friendly rice with beef was also very tasty, as was the Tom Ka Kai soup. A good amount of chicken and the broth was seasoned very well.

I like trying local places. They are usually better than chains. Today I wanted Thai and found Green Basil in Vernon Hills. I wish I hadn't. I was greeted by a pleasant young woman who took my to go order and offered me some water as I waited. On the inside the restaurant is nice and decorated very tastefully. Tasteful is not a word I can use for the food. I ordered a yellow curry that looked delicious upon opening the box. I was thoroughly disappointed with a very bland, nearly tasteless curry. On top of that, I am used to Jasmine rice with my curry and this time it was sticky rice. Maybe it's just me that prefers Jasmine so I can't ding them for that. The bland food was a one star. The service and atmosphere of the restaurant earns it a little higher rating.

Frequent visitor of this restaurant. Always order the Chicken Basil Fried Rice which is the best I’ve tried. Pad See Iew also good. My favorite appetizer is the Chicken Satay which is amazing and big with delicious peanut sauce. Staff is very nice and accommodative and food comes out relatively quickly.

Stopped in for the 1st time and was 1 of the only couples there. However, everything we ate was delicious. I hope it was just a slow day, places like this need to stay in the neighborhood.

My go-to Thai place in Vernon Hills. I've been a regular for the last almost 10 years and they never disappoint. Highly recommend their duck or soft crab menus. If you order out, they may be a little slow sometimes when they're busy, hence I took out one star (last time my husband had to wait 45 minutes even after their said pick-up time). Other than that, the quality of their food is amazing.

I never knew this place existed until my friend told me about it. My friend had a co-worker whose family owns this restaurant. Kinda hidden away as I've never noticed it and had to kinda drive around to find the location. The ambience of the restaurant is nice. The customer service was great! The food was good and the best part of it all, they have papaya salad available on their menu. One of the better Thai restaurants in the lake county area. Close enough to compare to the restaurants in California.

Fried rice is the best in the Vernon Hills/Libertyville area. Pad Se You is good. Crab/Shrimp rangoon is good. However, their egg rolls are not good and their sweet and sour sauce has a kick (didn't expect that). It would be better if they had an option for a sweet and sour sauce WITHOUT a kick. It would also be nice if on their online ordering, a customer could write special notes (like extra sauce) and customize their order more.
