We took a chance on this place for a birthday party and after trying some samples with the owner, our expectations were admittedly high because the samples were so good. “The BEST dairy free products! 3 years ago I was diagnosed with an allergy to all dairy. Bakery's became a memory from my past. I embarked on a quest of taste testing vegan baked goods and dairy free recipes. Sadly, I quickly became disenchanted and resigned myself to life without delicious tasting baked goods. Luckily for me, my husband DISCOVERED KARINA's. One evening he came home with two boxes of Karina's dairy free bread, pastries, and chocolate cake. HEAVENLY best describes the flavors and taste. Going forward, I'll be driving from Chicago to Mundelein for my baked goods!“

But even when it gets cold out, still fun to go to even during a brutal Chicago area winter.This is probably the one ice cream parlor around compared to others that has a huge emphasis on toppings/creations which is definitely their strong point.Always a great selection of flavors between their regular year round and seasonal flavors, prices still seem reasonable although the high-end ice cream chain has never really been cheap and customer service remains consistently good in an always spiffy clean/sanitized atmosphere.CSC obviously does battle with competitors such as Oberweis up the road and Graeter's. When it comes to taste and quality, this place lives up to the price and my kids are well worth it anytime of the year.Only con (which doesn't drag down a 5⭐️ rating) about this place is the parking lot which can be greatly limited especially on wknd nights when nearby Giordano's gets packed. You may find yourself having to park east across the street from Starbucks and walking a bit of distance.“
“I started going to this place before it switched owners and name. Continued to go because I was use to going there and actually started liking the new place. Already very friendly with the lady owner. They sometimes do vary the things they make. For example, one thing you buy one week might not be there the next week but whatever they have made is good. Everything always looks and taste fresh. They sometimes do have a variety of bread. I do recommend this place. I still need to try out their cakes.Update (12/2/23): I still go here to get my bread. There are usually other people at the register that make the experience iffy. When the owner use to be there charging, she would make you feel welcome and very friendly. But other than that the sweet breads are still good. They sometimes lack an extra baker that is why some times they have a fewer selection. I have by now tried their cakes a few times and they are very well done. Taste is on point, very delicious. They let you choose the details and make it as that. I still do recommend it. We have tried other places but end up coming back to this one.“
