Pretty impressed with this suburban hideaway! Im from out of town, so I don't know how popular John & Tony's is (there were only three other customers on the Tuesday night I visited), but would say the quality vs. value is top of class and worth a visit! Menu and bar selection is small, but let's face it, you're going for a good steak and their aged NY Strip is a winner... Cooked perfectly and just buttery enough to pop. Fresh grilled veggies on the side we're delightfully rich, and both fries and salad above par.

Food was good but very limited menu. The ambiance was terrific and classier than the menu. Service was great- but it couldn’t make up for the lack of menu choices. We were looking for a step above a bar menu and it wasn’t.

This place has been around for a long time, but it seems as if the owners have changed again. I live in the area and didn't even know if it was open! That said, we had a delightful evening. The place isn't crowded, the service is a bit slow, but they are working hard to recover post pandemic. Give them a chance!

We were very happy with the lunch we enjoyed at the Happy Hen this week. Although this restaurant is near and convenient to us, we have hesitated to stop by because it has changed identity frequently and we weren't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised - lovely makeover, great service and good food. We are excited to return!

We were delivering orders for our Avon business in the area and as we were driving we came across this restaurant. We have not been here before and we are really glad that we stopped in because the service was good, the food was great, and the restaurant is nice and clean. There is a decent sized parking lot with lots of free parking! I had the steak nacho appetizer as my meal and my husband had the two eggs any style (scrambled) with corned beef hash. The Nachos were excellent, the cheese was melted nicely and there was not a single stale chip. My husband liked his meal, he is not a fan of potatoes so I ate them and they were yummy. He loves the scrambled eggs they were nice and fluffy and very flavorful. He also loved the pancakes and said they were soft and fluffy and melted in his mouth. The portion sizes were nice and large and definitely worth the money! The menu has so many dining options that it took us a while to choose what we wanted. Will definitely be back when we are in the area. They have a full bar and even an closed off gambling machine area! I did not use the restroom but my husband says the mens room was nice and clean.

Had an awesome breakfast from Happy Hen!It was my first time here. I ordered and picked up right on the spot and got to enjoy looking at their cozy Christmas decor in their dining area. Benny, one of the owners is amicable and so welcoming.Food was ready quickly! Pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Eggs and bacon were awesome too. Menu has so many delicious and different options to satisfy any craving. I can't wait to return with family and friends. They have a big dining area with fireplace. Big bar with seating area, perfect for entertainment and hosting a party. There's also a private room!Wishing Happy Hen Cafe much success! Well deserved. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Its a quiet little place off North avenue, their food is delicious, my favorite is the breakfast quesadilla its the best one i have ever tried so far! I love that the atmosphere is quiet, it makes eating more enjoyable. The staff is very kind.

Plain an simply overpriced for the food quality I received from my country fried steak breakfast. The cream of potato soup had 1 diced piece of potato and consistency was a thinned down can of soup starting to separate. 2 small biscuits undercooked tasting like from a refrigerator package of biscuits. Country fried steak was not crispy at all, mushy breading and meat substance was like processed meat patty in looks and color, most likely a frozen patty that could be found in generic food freezer section. Hashbrowns were sliced potatoes, so just potatoes, eggs were eggs, country gravy was bland, tasting as thou made from a powder mix with pre made sausage crumbles. I could have enjoyed food if I felt like my food was made from a recipe vs a freezer. Staff was nice and place appeared mostly clean. I will not return again.

Decent food... actually, above expectations. We were delightfully surprised by the experience. Our family of six tried several different options from breakfast to burgers to nachos--there were no leftovers. ?

I must say that unfortunately in this day and age it's difficult to find places that have great service, but John & Tony's staff is some of the friendliest and attentive I come across in a while. The fact that the food was great was a huge plus as well. Hope the staff here is noticed for the great job they do. Truly makes this a great place to enjoy a meal.
