I’ve been ordering from this place over the last few years and have never had any problems. Tonight when we ordered the food was completely inedible. Crab Rangoons were stale as if they’ve been reheated hours later. Beef was so soft that it was just mush. And the chicken was so dry as if it had been sitting in a hot pot for hours. When we called to get a refund or to return the food the man on the phone got really upset and rude. It’s really disappointing when you want to support a local business but the service is awful and you spent $50 on food you can’t even eat.

One gripe: Don't get me wrong. I love the TASTE of the food but for certain items... such as the fried rice+protein (pork, chicken, shrimp, and "China Chef" varieties) the top layer of the carton after opening contains almost ALL of the protein (I assume positioned there to illicit a good first impression) while the remaining 75% contains almost all rice with basically no meat at all. This isn't a one-time impression but rather a pattern I've seen over the last 30 years. It's not a bait and switch technically... But feels a bit like one.

This $18 beef chop suey not only tasted burnt but had that wilted green something in it. The $18 sampler is more money and they took off the ribs. I called and told them about everything and she said the ribs have been off the sampler for a couple years which is not true they lost a long customer. It was so bad I asked if there were new owners

The food tasted like it was collected out of a barn after being fed to horses all day. I wish there was a way to give this place ZERO stars. This is not a troll, or some one looking for a problem. My family and I were very disgusted by what was served by this establishment.

Two years ago this place and food was...Delish! I order the orange chicken, its my favorite. The portions are huge. Great service too. The decor could stand to be revamped, but I go there for the food not the ambiance. Now, I feel they want to nickel and dime me to death. Only large sizes available, $3.00 more for hot peppers, no specials, move over for next customer. I mean seriously, the food is overbattered but I made allowances because in general I wanted to support local businesses, but now I'm going to the Asian restaurant on 63rd and cass.

The service was phenomenal, the people were amazingly friendly and they even went the extra mile to make my birthday special.

Dinner for 4 was just ok, nothing to talk about. For the price was kind of expensive, thought it would be better. Our usual Chinese Restaurant is closed on Tuesday.

Ordered Mongolian beef. Requested extra bean sprouts as the dish photos shows they are included. Received NO bean sprouts. Mongolian beef was sweet, like BBQ sauce. No spice at all. Requested utensils. Not received. No packets of sauce received. Egg rolls tasted stale. Won’t try them again. Waste of $33.00. Barely edible.

a lot of the negative comments are related to price but, prices are going up everywhere! anyways this is our go to cheap chinese place. when most entrees in restaurants alone are $12, here you get entree, side of rice and an egg roll which is plenty for the same price. We got 3 lunch specials for 2 adults and 2 kids and it was more than enough. When i went in for pickup the place is def old school, i’m a sentimental sap so i found it nostalgic if anything. These pictures are from the 2 times this month we’ve gone <3

I've dined here for many, many years with friends and family, ever since I was a kid, and the food has always been incredible. I can't get enough of the China Chef fried rice. It's hands down the best fried rice I've ever tasted. My usual orders are the mongolian beef, chicken lu mein, and oranged flavored chicken, and they're all amazing dishes. I also enjoy the dim lit cozy atmosphere.

Don't waste your time !Food & service were both terrible.Waitress had no recommendations.Appetizers tasted ok, but entrees were Very Very bland, no flavors, minimal meat. Cashew Chicken had about 8 nuts & noodles laid on top of 2 flat cuts of chicken.. looked like it went from freezer to plate.. . Shrimp Lo-Mein was made with Ramen Noodles & a clear white sauce... No Terriachi, No flavors. We had to ask for Soy & sweet / sour Sauce. Terrible experience, will NOT be going back.
