This is a hidden gem...we stopped here for a rest stop and ended staying for dinner. Service was excellent, atmosphere was very welcoming and the food was amazing and sooooo delicious. This little hidden gem surpassed my expectations...i will definetly be coming back.

Jamille was our server. 1st time there. We did wait awhile for service, but she did acknowledge us when she was behind bar making drinks, which I appreciated. Our cocktails she made were amazing! Chips and salsa are served, and chips are warm! My fajitas were amazing, and the chicken chimagna was as well. I will definitely go back.

ate at El Barril for the first time last night...ordered poblanos..they were the freshest and tastiest I have ever had...guacamole was excellent and served with some pico ... dessert (churro with ice cream) was a huge portion (great for sharing) and very tasty! I will be going back often!

Sad that their isn’t more people flooding this place since the food is simply amazing. I did have to wait to be seated and the waiter was into their phone so i stood there for a couple mins before they finally looked up and served me. Tons of food for the price i love this place just for the food.Wheelchair accessibility: One of the biggest worries is that everything is so crammed together but the space around all the tables leaves plenty of space for a wheelchair.

Stopped here on a trek to College in Iowa. Needed to fill my tank and grab a snack, but I hadn’t eaten and saw a Mexican Restaurant in the back. I’m from California so I have pretty high standards when it comes to Mexican food, but this place did not disappoint. Food was delicious, and even though it wasn’t very busy (-11 windchill right now) the vibe was still good. If you need a meal on 74 WB stop here!

My son and I stopped here on the way to moving him into college. The food is excellent - actually tastes like real Mexican food. We are from Southern California and spoiled with great Mexican food. I would definitely stop here while driving through again. Best I've had in this region.
