La Placita is closed. There is a new authentic Mexican restaurant in its place called Mary's Mexican Grill. See my review for Mary's on their page and Go check them out.

The taco meat looked & tasted like ground beef. The tamale was absolutely burnt.I have to add I called and they offered me a credit immediately and apologized.

Small and quiet. The cheese sauce tasted like canned sauce you buy at the store. The rest of the food was good though. Service was a little slow.

The food here is so good! Chips and salsa are a cost item but it’s clearly stated on the menu so it wasn’t a surprise. I prefer my salsa to be hotter but it had a good flavor. The carnitas plate was outstanding. A huge portion with lots of crunchy bits - a lot of places take a short cut and skip the last step of broiling or frying to crisp it up but they went all the way and it was great. Homemade tortillas were also excellent. The burritos are also very good. Reasonable prices and good service. A must try.

When we went there a school group stopped in before us! It created a longer wait time for our food. We were given free nachos and salsa to tide us over until our food arrived. It was well worth the wait time.Parking: There is plenty of parking around the square, free for two hours.

Good authentic food here. Right amount of spice. Took family of 6 here for a Benjamin. Quesidillas were excellent edition to the tacos. Pleasant service and quality food. Plenty of to go orders were picked up while we were there. Stop in for some great tacos with chips and salsa.

We were in town checking out the Groundhog Day filming locations. We liked inside and had actually decided against going in, as the place looked empty. We finally gave in, so we could see the inside that was used for the movie. We had the Milanesa de res Torta which should have resembled a chicken fried steak sandwich. We had a hard time locating any meat product in it. My wife left 3/4 of the sandwich behind. I had the tostadas with ground beef. The meat mixture was ground beef with a soupy mixture. They weren't overall bad but not great On another note, both cooks had been eating and one had come from outside prior to cooking our dinner. We did not see them wash any hands or wear gloves. I have no idea how this place remains open. A good restaurant, with decent food, could make a killing at this location.

Love the tacos from here! but once they started limiting sauces and limes it got a little annoying. Order 3 tacos and they only want to give you 1 sauce a 2 lime quarters. The food tastes very good but I love having green AND orange sauce on each of my tacos. Also who doesn't use a whole lime quarter for each taco?! This is why I have to give 4 stars and not 5.

Great service. Helpful waitress took our order and brought out our meals quickly. Menu has reasonably priced genuine Mexican dishes. We plan to eat here every time we are in Woodstock.

We had expected that the TipTop diner was still the from Groundhog Day film - very disappointed. The food was good and the staff nice.

Excellent, authentic cuisine combined with outstanding service makes me wanting more of their food. I Ordered Pastor Huarache, Taco dinner and Guacamole. The pork was moist, and seasoning was perfect. For a little extra kick, the red sauce is a must.

I would never go to this restaurant. The owner is a shovanistic, conceded man that thinks he is better than everyone. Even his employees are unhappy working there. He takes everything wonderful about the square, it's beauty and joy and and makes it trash. I would never support them, I hope they loose their business. There are so many better places tha t exist in Woodstock to give your money to, like El Niagra. This place horrible. ?

I haven't had a single dish that hasn't been absolute perfection. This is a great restaurant right on The Square. I heard that this was where the cafe scene from Ground Hog's Day was shot, so it's fun to imagine that. :) The Sopes are so good and hit that craving just right! Definitely don't pass this place up because it's not super flashy. Looking forward to next time!
