Spontaneous road trip to Michigan led us to this charming lake front bistro. We were greeted with a smile, and "find a seat." As we made our way to the back by the window to take in the view of Lake James, we were happily distracted by the nautical ambiance. We perused the surprisingly high end menu, but reasonable pricing and I settled on the Cuban. It was piled high with a variety of meats and each bite was terrific. My husband is vegan and was able to find a delicious flatbread to enjoy. The toppings could have been more, but the flavor was there. The only miniscule complaint I have or rather suggest, is to move the large trash can that was on the porch imparing our view of the lake.Bravo Waterfront Bistro ?

My out of town friends birthday. Came without a reservation. BIG mistake asked us to go outside in the rain & wait 20 minutes. In a additide that was not nice or friendly, by the owner.

This was a great little place on the water. Food was excellent. Our service was a little slow due to the fact that our server was handling people inside and outside but he did a good job otherwise

This place is a sad excuse for a restaurant. They are either never taking people, only taking reservations, or are closing early. The staff is rude. The food is mediocre. Any time I even think about trying this place again, I run into these problems. Also, their website DOES NOT WORK. So your only option to make reservations is to attempt to call them. This place should just shut down and save everyone the trouble.Edit: Their snide response shows exactly why it's a waste of time coming to this restaurant and why what I said is true - the staff is rude. They don't even attempt to try to make it better. And if you go look at his responses to all the negative reviews he is snide and sarcastic in all of them and takes no accountability!!

Basically a waste of time going there. Made reservations online that were not honored. There are better choices in the Angola area.

Food and service were good but seems overpriced for lunch, especially considering the size of the portions. Also, prices were displayed on their wet/dry board but we were charged more than what was shown.

We were meeting here as a halfway point for lunch, both parties from out of town. One of our parties got lost in Angola. We had no idea how to help them get there. One of the owners graciously helped give us directions to relay to them and waited outside with us while we watched for them. The food was also delicious and decently priced. If we lived closer, this would be one we'd frequent more often!Very impressed with their hospitality going above and beyond.Thank you!Kid-friendliness: They had the typical kids options: mac and cheese, burgers and chicken tenders to name a few.

One of the only places to sit on the lake which is nice. Food and service is ok. Wish they still had breakfast.

Came to Waterfront Bistro as a birthday dinner with my family. First thing we ordered is water with our drinks. Our drinks came, no water. Then we ordered appetizer of spinach artichoke dip. Waitepress came back and said we they didn’t have any, so we skipped appetizer. Then we ordered our entrees. No chicken parmesan, no flatbread, no spinach. This is a Tuesday! My meal was good, but for $27 for the dinner of the walleye, a bit pricey for what you received. 3 of 4 of us ordered it. We had to ask the waitress for water 2 more times before we received water at the end of our meal. So, we have lived at our lake house for 19 years, we try The Waterfront Bistro once per year as there just isn’t a lot of quality restaurants in Angola proper. We give them all a chance. Skip this one. The shame of it is that we were having 4 other close friends up in early September….lifelong friends.we want to take them out to a restaurant that we could have a great meal. We won’t be going back with our friends to The Waterfront Bistro.

Made a reservation online for the last seating of the evening - 6 pm. Tried to confirm it by phone but their phone system was not working. When we arrived at 6, we were told they closed at 6 and could not be served. They suggested that I should have made the reservation by phone, which I would have done had their phones been working. The day after this fiasco I got an email that read, “Reservation not confirmed”. Not a lot of choices in the area on a Sunday so we had donuts for dinner.
