This was my favorite restaurant since the early 2000's. I've celebrated birthdays and been here since it was in a different location. Literally thousands of visits and dollars spent over the years. However since the owner sold and new owners took over, it's been a different place. One by one the hibachi cooks left, and employees changed. It makes it unrecognizable. Our last trip may be our final. The lobster was so salty we couldn't eat it, the noodles without seasoning and flavor, the meat was prepared in an edible manner but it was such a let down from the years of excellent taste we have enjoyed. I write this incredibly sad for the loss. I would eat here many times a month. I'm so, so sad it's just not good anymore unless you are someone who smothers everything with yummy sauce, and that's the only taste you need, that may be ok still. I'm beyond disappointed. The sushi has remained well, as the sushi chef is quite good, but the hibachi experience has been ruined for me. I gave 3 stars for this reason. 6 or 8 months ago would have been 5 + stars. Bloomington has lost a great resturant.

Food was excellent, however the service while adequate was somewhat off putting. I recommend it.

This is the best sushi and hibachi place you could ever eat at. Their fried rice is so good especially if you put a bunch of Yum Yum sauce on it and all of the workers there are so awesome and nice and attentive. I've always got a good fortune cookies when I went there to.

Excellent experience! Staff were amazing and polite. Very respectful and deserve 1000 stars if possible. Above and beyond. The environment is beautiful and cultured. The food tasted healthy and great! Thank you and much appreciated :D

They have wide menu of both Chinese and Japanese cuisine! The food is always fresh, hot and tasty! I highly recommend the spicy crab-stick riceplate! Atmosphere is decorated with authentic asian taste and the staff is very respectful! It's always a 10/10 from them whether you pickup or dine-in. Parking is abundant, the wait time is short. Great job, Asuka!

I hardly ever leave reviews, but the fact that my group made reservations, had to wait over an hour past our reservation time to sit down, and then ate subpar hibachi made me feel compelled to say something. Beware the service and the swordfish.

I gave it 3-star for the service. Service was prompt in spite of the busy holiday (Christmas Day). We we're excited that we don't have to go at Chinese restaurant this year & we saw a Japanese restaurant open. I ordered a bento combo & quite not impressed. The teriyaki is not marinated it looks like they just pour the sauce to anything. We wanted hot food but it's warm and the spring roll is mushy. The quality and taste of food is below average. Unfortunately, it didn't passed our taste buds.

Never used to remember this restaurant as an option but recently ate there and it was delicious! I love that they have such a large amount of different food options, they have a Chinese menu and Japanese menu, so you can get a little bit of everything! We got steamed whole fish, vegetable tataki, and some rolls and everything was amazing! The real star of the show was the shrimp dumplings, they were so incredibly delicious we order them all the time now, one time we literally just got dumplings for carry out as a snack! Do yourself a favor and get these dumplings!

My drink was served with a plastic wrapper in it, no apology was offered. The food was marginal. We had 3 or 4 waitresses so it was very confusing. Waitress running through the restaurant even though it wasn't that busy. Table bussers bringing an actual cart out to clear the tables which is a big no-no they should use a tray. It was chaotic at best and it ruined our evening. Not to mention they had Hannibal playing on the TV, nothing like seeing Ray Liotta getting his brain eaten while eating dinner.

Friendly service! Hibachi & sushi. Sushi was really good! I grew up here but live by the ocean now & I'll tell you this...... For being in a land locked state I was surprised at how good it was.

If I could give zero stars to this place I could. I will start by saying the food was great, the service however was so terrible I will never return. We went for a friends birthday and all ordered off the hibachi menu. Our waitress was cold, distant, and snapped at us for our orders. When the hibachi chef came out...he said hello and didn't talk the rest of the time, he served us while wearing AirPods...my friend asked our waitress what type of soup she was serving us as an appetizer and she rolled her eyes and didn't answer him. We all were so uncomfortable. It truly felt like something out of the twilight zone. Other waiters came in our room and were also cold and unhelpful. I have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant before. Skip this place!!

Honestly, Asuka used to be good. But they’ve gone way down hill. Last night, they tried to serve us Italian noodles for the Japanese hibachi noodles.. that they most likely got at the international mart right down the street. And still charging 3 dollars extra.. do they think people won’t notice? I mean they are completely different noodles. Then they substituted it for fried rice that they didn’t even cook in front of us. Food wasn’t the greatest either. Then as we are leaving, we see a cockroach trying to crawl up my chair. Be careful for overcharge and not clean restaurant

Awesome dishes. Depending upon your choices you can eat a low cost or expensive meal. If you lean toward being vegetarian there are many delicious selections. The questionable thing is the waitresses kind of laugh at u in your face and were a bit rude. This was my first visit and if the food was not good I would never go back.
