Typical college student grub. The food was tasty. Worth coming back again & again. They are also one of the few eateries adjacent to campus open late on weeknights that is not a fast food chain. Service is friendly, too!

I used to love butch’s like I seriously would go with my roommates every week but I went again after they reopened and honestly everything was mediocre but compared to their food before their reopening it was terrible. Seriously I used to love butchs so I hope they can figure it out!

Live and die by Butches. A b-town fan favorite with a very large menu so I'm here to guide you. The owners are from the east coast and pride themselves on their pizza. It is probably the closest thing to a New York slice you will find in Bloomington with a crispy crust and a good sauce to cheese ratio. Keeping with the New York trend, butches bagels reign supreme to Bloomington bagel company. A BEC on everything bagel (add an avocado) is a great way to curb your hangover and start your weekend day. Other good options: chicken cutlet sandwich, pastrami, any one of the "big grillas" Stay away from: COFFEE (terrible coffee), gyros, cold subs

Love the staff. They are always so jovial, friendly, and quick to joke around with their customers. They have an incredibly large variety of food options and I have always had a positive experience going there. Having access to a full menu is incredible. Not sure if they still have those menus but I still have one and it's pretty awesome to have that kind of item in my apartment.

All I've ever gotten from this place is disappointment. First time took almost an hour to get my food, my hot sandwich had cold chicken and it seemed like they just poured tomato juice all over it. Second time I went (I was convinced to go bc I was hesitant bc my first experience was so bad) I looked at the menu before & picked something out & of course when I got there, they told me they didn't have what I ordered. I ordered a sandwich thinking it was going to be a hot sub - turns out it's a cold deli sandwich I could've made with stuff from Kroger for half the price. I probably won't be going back & I probably won't recommend it to anyone else either. 2 stars because the fries were good & the guy was nice.

After.. oh, 11 years or so I decided it was time to give Butch's another try. We've been ordering in a lot during the pandemic, and hadn't thought much about downtown restaurants. I had not chosen Butch's after that initial visit ages ago. This is definitely a place I would order from again. The food was hot, the portions were generous, and their menu has some good variety to it. I had the meatball parmesan. It came with garlic knots, which was a nice surprise! Overall, it was good. If it were great, I would definitely give them 5 stars. It may just be my tastes, so I'm not going to say it wasn't. I'm just saying that it wasn't quite what I was expecting. The sauce was really good, and so was the cheese. We also ordered chili fries, a grilled cheese, and something else. They are officially on my list of go to places to order from now! Yum!

I’ve had two encounters with the owner over a BTown menu problem. Both times, the owner fixed everything and then some. The food is outstanding and customer service is top notch!!!!!!!!
