This bar was an amazing experience,they are great about keeping fake ids outside given they are a college bar and all the fakes scheme outside about how they are going to get in and its wild to watch. The bad reviews I've seen are by those who were clearly in the wrong. If you like karaoke or dancing to decade themed music this is the space for you!!

I can’t even give this place 1 star! I’m absolutely disgusted with how I was treated by the bouncer! I wasn’t even drunk, actually it was the 1st bar I went to… didn’t pregame COMPLETELY SOBER!!!!!!!!! Mind you I’m also 25 and have gone to multiple bars in Indy! I was already super Skeptical about going to Btown bars w all the students but wanted to push through! There were about 4 steps ( mind you we literally just had an ice storm as well, the ground was completely covered as well as their stairs with ice ) anyways! I waited in line for 20 mins in the cold! Again I’m completely sober! As I’m walking down the stairs to get into the bar I slipped on the last step, the bouncer immediately said I was NOT welcomed and I was way too drunk mind you those were his exact words! My friend tried to go without me so she could start her fun Saturday then he told her she wasn’t welcomed even without me!!! I’m absolutely disgusted with how I was treated and it was carried on to my friend! This is exactly why you most definitely Shouldn’t have students as your bouncers LOL should’ve asked his name but I was so upset and felt so weird! He was tall ,younger looking, brown hair, slim body… I will never come here again and have already reached out to management! I just felt like sharing this in case others have experienced this or it was simply an IU student that has zero knowledge. Either way btown bars suck! Go to Indy!!! Better people, better bars, better atmosphere!

Horrible service, bartender tried to slap my drink out of my hand and laid hands on me/ shoved me out the door because my sister grabbed a lime out of a tub (the tub was sitting in front of her on the bar). Insane overreaction, insanely rude & aggressive bartender, don't recommend this place.

Pretty affordable shot prices, good vibes. My favorite place is right opposite the bartender's counter, I call it the red light room ?. The general crowd seems decent.

It is indeed a root cellar. They have concrete instead of a wooden dance floor but otherwise it’s a good place.

Had a super strange experience here. I have a state issued driver's license and the college dude door guy decided not to let me in because "my ID did not glow enough" Lol. Okay, whatever. We went elsewhere but was a super weird experience. Management, if you read this, I would like to bring your attention to whoever was at the door on November 27 at about 11:30. I felt like he was playing head games and was being purposefully rude. Super unprofessional as well. Best of wishes to the dude at the door who playing around with power trips and discrimination

A hipster style bar with a different crowd than the rest of the bars in town. Great music and atmosphere bur it can be better if they organized the place so it would not overlap and stay in touch with events
Being cursed out by the manger then removed for complimenting an outfit on Halloween is divisive. Especially when all I said was the outfit LOOKED GOOD. I've never been so disrespected ever in a night club.

The manager there was very rude and confrontational, kicked us out for a problem but never came to us to see what the problem was. Just assumed and kicked us out for a simple misunderstanding. Very unprofessional.
