The meat was all super dry. We only liked maybe 2-3 sauces out of the 6. The service was great but 2 hosts or servers were on their phones laying down up front when people walked in. They stayed like that our entire meal, there’s not a lot of drink options but the bartender was nice enough to let me switch some things around since i’m not a big dark liquor girl. Overall the food sucked, the server was really nice but the atmosphere was flimsy and overrated. Priced too high for workers to be acting like that, won’t be going back. (especially because there’s a million other bbq places in bloomington that taste WAY better)

We are in Bloomington Indiana 4/7/2024, like 200000 other people. To catch the eclipse tomorrow! But today we wanted to eat lunch! We went to another restaurant, and were told at 1:20 they were only taking reservations till 2:00.The place was basically empty! But we said ok!We would wait, the menu looked good, they had good reviews! We sat outside basting in the sun that had brought us here! And decided to have a drink while we waited! The bar was closed!!!We moved on!And came to findSomkeworks 125 N College AveBBQWe had fried okra, onion rings, potato salad, 1/2 ribs slab, brisket and onion sandwich.Only banana pudding would have topped this off!If you’re here visiting, for the once in a lifetime eclipse, or any other time. This is a good place!Hailey was a great waitress!

saturday at eleven thirty my pulled pork was not warm. My baked beans were also cold but my friends hamburger was good and warm. I feel like the place opened at 11 and the food was not at proper temperature. ?

This is my Fourth time coming to smokeworks, I remember in the beginning I could not forget how good everything was from the sauces to the super tender brisket. Service and food quality has gone downhill. I got passed up by the very few servers that where hyper focused on larger tables. My latest experience has left me not wanting to return. I ordered a Dixie two step with brisket and pork belly. This meal also has sides of Mac and cheese w baked beans. To start my portions where incredibly small, I had two appetizer skewers of pork cubes that where very overcooked and a tiny corner of dry brisket. The Mac and cheese was stone cold and the baked beans where oldy sour. I made my complaint including everything I just stated and they came back asking if they could replace the beans with another side.... Like my whole meal is gross and sad. I would no longer recommend this place. Sad it used to be my go to for Barbecue.

Brisket was half fat, but it was tender lol. Wings a little hard, but must say well done. Beans really nasty. Cornbread cold. Tea not sweet enough. First time visit, probably last

Greeting was slow, waitstaff was slow, food was decent, it’s definitely gone down hill. I got ribs and wings. Wings were good the ribs were so dry it was hard to eat. But at the price I paid I wasn’t going to waste them. Oaks was awesome as always, beans were good too. Sweet tea was lacking.

We went in to try their bushwackers after seeing a post about them online. The drinks were tasty and the bartender was nice. The only issue I had was the drinks were rung up as more than what was listed on the menu. When I brought this up, the bartender said she couldn't do anything but she'd tell the manager later. Probably won't go back unless Madelyn to since I can't trust the menu.

Prices ring up more than the menu. Server says… sorry can’t do anything about it. Keep an eye on your bill. There were 7 of us. Drinks only. Sat at the bar. Each drink rang up $1 more than the menu stated. Two drinks per person. So $14 more than it should have been. However, the service was great!!!

First time in Bloomington, wonderful town. Smokeworks is located at the town square which was perfect for a couple of tourists from the east coast. We came around 12 which we felt was early as there wasn’t many people there yet.We ordered the ribs and wings which is a MUST for couples who wanna get filled up. Our sides were the fried pickles and Mac and cheese. We were so happy by the end of it that we ordered some bourbon for the hell of it. Classic buffalo trace, and then one of the best bourbons to try and still affordable was Angels Envy. We capped off our boozy day with one of the rum milkshakes. Did we want bourbon in it instead? Yes. But we weren’t disappointed in the slightest by whatever rum was in there. We were so happy I brought my sister and parents in two days later for a family meal where we ordered double of what we got last time.Levi was our server first, sorry but we can’t remember our second one…Great time!
