Love this place! Service is great, all of the employees are super kind. My roommate works here and loves it too. It has always been a go to spot for studying and getting work done. Right on campus! They have all of your favs and really fun specialty drinks for the seasons. The setup is really cute and I love the way it's decorated. Other locations are nice too but this one is definitely the best! Love you Soma!

You will find this coffee shop right across the street from the main IU campus. There is a small lot available in front of the the shop that has spots with a 20 minute max. Since the shop is so close to IU campus, most people walk here. The dining area is large and has couches, tables/chairs and bar seating along the front window. You can imagine that the place is usually filled with IU students working away on their laptops of in small social groups, given the shop's close proximity to the campus. The women that were working during my visit were all so very helpful and friendly. they helped my make my selection. They serve a wide array of hot and iced coffees and also has teas, smoothies and juices as well. The coffees come in 3 sizes, yep you guessed it, small, medium and large. The light food options that they have includes cookies, scones, muffins, parfaits, quiche, zucchini bread, brownies, and cinnamon rolls. I ended up getting a large iced pumpkin spice latte. It took about 7 minutes for me to get my drink. It was very savory and hit the spot. It was gone in a matter of seconds. Anyway, I highly recommend checking this place out. It is a traditional coffee house, with a great staff, savory drinks and delicious treats. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Employees are nice. Would not return on own accord. The lattes lacked any flavor of espresso. Tasted like straight up milk. Honey wasn't mixed in. Asked for an extra shot of espresso and it costed $3. spent $10 on a subpar cafe miel. There was honey at the bar, so if I would've known they weren't going to make the effort to mix it in, I wouldn't have paid extra for it. This is my second time here where my lattes sucked. Hoping they fix their latte training or however that works. Cool environment though. Good place to study. Minimal parking.

I’m a 23 y/o senior here at IU, and visited this location yesterday to study for a very difficult exam. After being seated for less than 20 minutes, the “assistant manager” came up to me, headphones on and deep in studying, to ask if I was going to buy something…Concentration ruined, ugh…I was taken aback. I always spend money when I go to a café, but shame on me for not doing so the second I walked in the door I suppose... Maybe this location has an issue with loitering, due to its close proximity to the dorms? This could also explain the employees overall attitude. I informed her that yes, I was going to purchase a drink and a snack; Nevertheless, it was not a tactful or pleasant interaction, and I was unhappy to be interrupted in the middle of my work for what I consider an insulting reason…Does every customer receive this shakedown? Is it so uncommon to find a seat before going to the counter, that it warranted confrontation? Or possibly, am I just special? :) I’m no rookie to coffee shops, I’ve studied for hours prior to getting coffee and have never experienced this treatment anywhere. If I do return to this location, I’ll buy my coffee immediately, to avoid interruption and being mistaken for a loiterer…Overall, the place left a bad taste in my mouth, which certainly wasn’t from the coffee or delicious baked goods…It’s a shame, because I love the other two Soma’s in B-Town, and this one is the closest to my apartment. But alas, employees make-or-break the coffee-shop experience, and because of this, I will be going elsewhere in the future.Parking: Parking is also a nightmare here. If you’re driving from somewhere off campus, go elsewhere!

I don't understand why the prices are so high compared to other places in Bloomington. The coffee is fine, but nothing special. The location is great. The staff are awesome (and underpaid). The wifi IS ALWAYS OUT. The decor is really terrible. The atmosphere really takes a hit because they don't even try to make it look nice. Pay people better and take care of your place. Fix your wifi. (I'm really grumpy because I have a huge project due and was banking on being able to work at your coffee shop for a few hours. Spent money and then couldn't work there!)

We had our first visit to Soma during a recent trip to the Indiana University Bloomington campus, and I was very impressed. I've always been a big fan of independent coffee shops, and this one has everything you need. I had an iced latte, which was very flavorful. Service at the front counter was prompt and courteous, and the ambience is just what you'd expect. This location is situated in a small retail area on 3rd Street, right in the heart of the campus and next to a Village Pantry. Inside, you'll find lots of college students with their MacBooks, doing assignments and studying. This shop has a lot of charm, and with such a prime location, I'm sure they'll be successful for many years to come.

Soma crew is the best. Called to ask what teas they have because my friend was gonna pick me up some cause I was sick. Gave me 2 recommendations and helped me place a pickup order over the phone. My friend brought me my tea and they drew big on the cup GET WELL SOON with a ton of hearts. Been sick for several days and this made my day. I ❤️ Soma

Longtime patron of this Bloomington institution. Always bustling and vibrant, decent pastries, better cold sando's, and good drinks.
