I am sorry to have to make this review because I truly love The Irish Lion. I have been coming here for over 20 years. To me the Coddle is their signature dish. I can get Celtic stew or Shepard pie at any Irish place. However last time we went they brought out empty bread bowls to us. We pointed it out and the server took them away to be filled. When he returned they were still only half full. $15 for a cup of soup and some bread. It had very little of anything but broth and not enough of that to even moisten the bread. There might have been enough soup between the 3 of us to fill 1 bread bowl. Never ever had that happened to me here. The portions were always well worth the money. The cost has nearly doubled in 2 years which is unstandable with inflation but I expected it to remain as large a portion. When we asked to speak with a manager the server just walked away. I will not return and it breaks my heart. Maybe I will go just for the blarney puffballs.

One of my favorite places to eat in Bloomington. Great atmosphere and ambiance. Food is filling and does a good job of bringing the tastes of the Emerald Isle to Indiana.

good food but waitress was less than desirable. we were told we needed to leave that they had others waiting on the table. we spent $160 with food and drinks, tipped very well. my first trip will be my last.

What a treat. The atmosphere was fun, authentic and fun. Many hanging boats, wood, awesome bar with lots of seating. I lived in England for awhile and they definitely nailed the atmosphere of a British or Irish pub. Food was classic Irish pub food and was very good. Will go again.

Solid choice. My go-to meal for any Irish establishment is the Shepherds Pie. I have to say, this was one of the better ones that I have had. The vegetables in it weren't canned as most places, but still enjoyed some firmness to them (and who likes soggy vegetables). Nice environment and good atmosphere. Will definitely enjoy a meal again in the future if given the opportunity.

Went here for dinner and it's a very cozy pub with a lot of food options. Cool layout as well with a nice upstairs area. The prices are a little steep for what you're getting but it's good, quality food at the end of the day. The shepard's pie I got was excellent.
