It is an institution in Carmel. I only go to Carmel for work every year or two and have dined here 3X for lunch. The burgers are actually pretty good and the waffle fries too.

Their chili in a bread bowl is just the thing for a cold, breezy, late winter day in Indiana! It's a little pricey, but worth it. Their chili has a nice cayenne "kick" to it. Up here, chili is served with beans. Friends down in Texas might clutch their pearls about that, but I like chili with beans and this is a VERY respectable chili!

Food was good. Service was terrible. Not the servers fault she was off making milkshakes while the manager covered for her. By the time we got our 10.00 milkshakes we were all done eating. I complained to the manager his response was to give me a bubs card with 500 points on it. Worth 5 bucks. Our tab for the night was close to 120.00. They were not busy. To be fair the food was good but the manager just added insult to injury by offering me this dumb ass card with 5 bucks off a future visit. I felt like he thought I was stupid enough to buy this crap. I left his card on the table. It's really a shame because we really liked the food and could have forgiven the poor service, but the managers response to my complaint was insulting and I will not be back. If you don't mind 1 star service go for it. Seems like good people working for poor management.

Ordered for take out, the text message clearly said will notify when order is ready. It did not, so my food sat on the counter for who knows how long. And we were missing an order of fries and a thing of cheese. Restaurants was not busy so there was no excuse on leaving out anything....
Me and my family went there a few weeks back. The food was great and the service was great as well. We went on a Saturday evening so it was pretty busy, but our server made sure we were taken care of. Also, they are very kid friendly at Bub’s. They gave my children bags with crayons and snacks to eat while we waited to order. Overall, I would most definitely go back. Do keep in mind their food is a little pricier, but I would pay it all over again. It was worth it.
